Barty's Mum
Why don't you try giving garlic oil capsules every day in their food, this is one natural alternative that does work for repelling ticks and fleas on about 80% of dogs it has been tried on. I use it down here in France where the ticks and fleas are now resistant to Frontline and the little so and so's are rampant. Last summer we didn't have a single problem - started mine on them a month ago as we were having temperatures over 20C and so far so good. I buy mine from Healthspan but you could get special doggy ones from Hilton Herbs. And before you ask, no it doesn't make them smell of garlic. BillyMalc
I used CSJ's 'Billy No Mates' last year - although I do object to the name for obvious reasons! - and we had no creepy crawlies at all. Mine do get garlic in their food on a regular basis as well
blackmagic
Have used both garlic and Billy no Mates without success. We have wild pheasants who visit the garden( 1 acre of excroft land) and I think they bring them, as Murphy picks them up in the garden. My dalmatian doesn't get them. zico's mum
Garlic doesn't work here either.Frontline combo - not ordinary Frontline is what I used last year, this year have gone for Prac-tic - partly cost mostly because vet nurse said it is more effective against ticks which my two get plenty of due to walks on moors/fields with deer, foxes, badgers and plenty of bracken.
