PEAS, SAUSAGES AND NEW POTATO MASH Serves 4 750g new potatoes, washed and scrubbed 30g butter for potatoes 2 tbsp rapeseed oil 8 good quality pork sausages 250g tub of creme fraiche (full or low fat) 100ml vegetable stock 250g frozen peas 1 bunch of spring onions, trimmed and diced 1 tsp cornflower mixed with a little cold water to a thick paste, to thicken stock Small bunch of chives, chopped Pinch of nutmeg for potatoes (optional) Sea salt and black pepper Method Cut the potatoes into chunks and add to a large pan of boiling salted water. Simmer the potatoes, for 15-20 minutes or until tender, drain, add the butter, return to the pan and set aside. Meanwhile heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan and cook the sausages on a medium heat, for 10-15 minutes, turning, until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and keep warm. Clean the sausage pan, return to the heat, add the creme fraiche, stock and peas, stir and bring to the boil. Cook for 3-4 minutes, until the stock has reduced slightly. Divide the potatoes between four plates, top each portion with two sausages and spoon over the pea sauce. FORGET AN APPLE A DAY, IT'S TIME FOR PEAS! 3. Thanks guy's. You are all saying what I feel. The reason he wants to give me the present is because he say's my e-mails make him laugh and brighten up his stressful day. I am a very happy bubbly person by nature and tend to like everyone until I have reason to dislike them and I guess one of my biggest problems is that I have no reservations about people and treat everyone with a smile and a kind word and treat them as if I have known them forever. Tomorrow I shall go into work and return his present and then get my dealings with him onto a more professional standing, which is a shame in a way as I will miss the bantering between us, but yes, I need to reign myself in and learn from this. xx Thank you
  4. In my line of work I have to deal with a chap from a courier company via e-mail and on a regular basis. Our e-mails are often fun ones with one or two work related one's thrown in for good measure. When he went on holiday he brought me back a couple of bracelets from spain and when I went to Egypt i sent him a bottle of port that I brought back. The last week he asked me if I would accept a present from him in the form of a friendship bracelet. I never had time to answer the e-mail before the post came and with it a parcel from him with a friendship bracelet from Links of London. Looking on line it appeared that this bracelet cost over £100 so I replied that there was no way that I could accept it and he replied that he would like me to keep it but if I felt I couldn't then to give it to my daughter. I have since been on e-bay and have seen that they sell the same bracelet for less than half of what I thought it cost so maybe it was only certain colours that cost so much. I did e-mail back that there was no way I could possibly keep it and that he should be spending his money on his wife rather than me. He replied that his wife was spoilt enough and got everything that she wanted. So, now I know that it doesn't cost as much as I thought it did, do I accept in in the sprit in which it was given or return it? Neither of us is looking for an affair and the chances of us meeting are pretty slim. I did tell my husband what he sent me and he didn't seem at all fazed. The bracelet if you want to see it is a friendship bracelet by Links of London and is in the colour of 'baby pink'. xx

  9. I have had it done and would say to anyone..GO AND HAVE THE OP. It is done under local and you will need at least 4 weeks off work. My hand was very swollen afterwards but I learned to do everything using my left hand while the right was healing. I no longer have any problems what so ever and the scar is not visible at all. Go for it girlfriend
  10. The 1st one is regarding a Mac computer and forwarding e-mails. How do I do this without showing previous history. As in who I got the e-mail from and a thousand other people before me. The 2nd one is, last Sunday I got back from holiday in Egypt. This Sunday I would like to put and end to Egyptian tummy that I seem to have had ever since arriving home but not whilst I was there. Any ideas please ? xxxx

  15. My friend at work held up an apple today and said that it reminded her of a children's tv program but she couldn't remember what it was called. I do know the one she is talking about but cant remember the name either. All I can do is liken it to the stuff that is in a Lava Lamp and its all about these 'blobby things' Does anyone remember it?

  18. Thanks for your replies everyone and Helly I have joined redsea4u thank you tho I do struggle to stay on it for long due to the red background colour. 19. She is really going to take after her dad and grandad judging by this one, it looks as if there is a ring pull just above her. Terri, I love your replies/comments on posts. You are so down to earth and don't give a monkeys arse about what you say especially about your poor dearly beloved hubby You remind me of the Broons
  20. Husband has now booked the holiday and thanks for your replies but he has booked Sharm el sheik. Before starting this thread getting him to book a holiday was like pulling teeth and now despite saying what Helly wrote he has decided that Sharm el sheik is the only place he will go. We have booked all inclusive at a cost of £1630.00. (not cheap is it?/or is it? . I did look at holiday reviews and was getting rather alarmed at all the negative reviews, not just for Sharm el sheik but for the whole of Egypt. Mmmm thought I, somethings not quite right here so I viewed a whole lot of other places/countries and it was negative for everywhere. So have now decided to ignore all the reviews as we have never looked at them before and holidays have turned out to be great so will not bother to look anymore. However, I now have another question. Over the months I have squirreled away some spending money which amounts to £500.00 in CASH. So what do I convert this into, cash or travelers cheques or what?
  21. I want to go somewhere hot in the 2nd & 3rd week of September. I have been looking at loads of different countries and did a holiday review on some of the places that I quite fancied but each and every one of them didn't have a good review. So I thought I would ask on here for some nice places. I was looking at Shalom en sheik (sp?) which I wanted to go to but again, bad reviews. Can anyone please tell me a place they have been that was really nice. I'm looking for, heat, nice food, nice beach, shops, a bit of night life and maybe a few interesting bits and bobs to look at along the way. Hubby and I just scrape in at the under 50 year old bracket so bopping the night away is not high on my list. However, It will be the 1st time in 25 years that we have holidayed just him and me.
  22. My gawd Pingu, how bored are you?
  23. Note to self. Watch the whole thing in future before dragging in Son to look and see what phone I want next. Egg/face comes to mind. Son now thinks his Mother is a gullible old fool.
