Pedros is a very cute 14 year old small crossbreed boy who came into Oldies Club care when his owner's circumstances changed and he could no longer care for Pedros. Pedros is in an Oldies Club foster home in Berkshire, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home.

Pedros was originally rescued in Greece, 10 years ago, and his owner told us that he knows his basic commands in two languages! He is a little star with other animals and children and so he will make a lovely addition to his new family. Read on if you are interested in becoming his new family…

Good in the home: Pedros has settled well at his foster home and he is happy to be left for reasonable periods of the day.

Good with dogs, cats and children: Pedros is good with dogs, cats and children and has lived with all of these in the past. His previous owner thought that he would probably prefer to be the only dog in the home now that he's older, but he's fine with dogs he meets out. He'd not want to be pulled around by young children, but he should be fine to live with well-behaved, considerate children.

Out and about: Pedros is a lovely little boy who loves to go out and he enjoys short walks. He isn't bothered by other dogs and just gives them a sniff. He's quite good off the lead but may be a little deaf and doesn't always have great recall, so his new owners will need to take care to only let him off lead in safe places. However he doesn't wander very far and will always come back to find you. He's fine on the lead provided you keep up a decent pace, and he's quite obedient. He doesn't play with toys or balls. Pedros is worried by car travel (because he was driven all the way from Greece to England!!) and suffers with travel sickness.

Likes and dislikes: Pedros likes walks and cuddles. Pedros dislikes loud noises.

Health notes: Pedros is microchipped, vaccinated and flea and worm treated. He hasn't been neutered and our vet advised against it simply due to his age. Pedros has arthritis in his front right leg and sometimes it gives way and he stumbles. He has a limp and although he has lots of energy when he first goes out, after a short while he slows right down. A 20 minute walk 3 times a day is more than enough for him. He has a slight thickening of the ear but the vet doesn't think this needs any treatment. He has tablets for his arthritis, one a day. He has a dry sore nose that his foster carer puts Vaseline on, but Pedros licks it off and seems to think it's a special treat!

Ooo, my nose is feeling a little dry again, foster mummy…

Summing up Pedros: His foster carer tells us he's: Gentle, Loving, Quiet and Good natured. He is very bright and a lovely companion.
