louisebt Posted July 18, 2010 Report Share Posted July 18, 2010 Many years ago my parents had 2 dogs, Hywel the labby and Merlyn a black cocker spaniel.... They became friends with the breeder of Merlyn and mum caught wind he had a litter... one of the litter, the runt, was rejected by mum and had a large ambilical hernia.... mum went to see the pups and went home to dad and told him she was having the runt (twas originally a joke), dad went down to see him, a few weeks later i was allowed to visit, Alfie stayed with the breeder while his hernia op was done then came home.... this was Alfie (the golden dot) with his litter sister He grew into a lovely dog, adored my dear gramps while he was alive Sadly he is now on borrowed time, he has cancer (some bits were removed but came straight back), his spine is crumbling, his legs are dodery, but overall as the vet has said, he isnt in pain and still has quality of life With Merlyn just before Merlyn went to the bridge After his op to remove his cancerous lumps Happy 14th birthday handsome boy!!!!
