Rumpole
horrific but unfortunately its becoming more and more common to be informed of dumped bullbreeds bit worried about the puppy being declared as being able to live a normal life though as it depends on whether cerebellar hypoplasia is acquired or inherited as to the outcome. JRTs are prone to the inherited version which is usually degenerative and has far more associated problems than the acquired version which our pickle has such as fits slowly losing the ability to walk or to be able to eat and drink unaided or be sick, these dogs need lifelong care. pickle is still handfed and has only just been able to start eating biscuits because of the risk of breathing in crumbs, and no longer drinks due to the risk of aspiration pnuemonia which is the usual cause of death in ataxic dogs(he takes his fluid by way of ice cubes.) Its not an easy job coping with a cerebellar dog and many dont survive beyond 2 years its unfair to imply to potential owners that there will be no further problems ive called the sanctuary who have bambi
