Fee
12 year old Holly has recently come into Oldies Club care and is in a foster home in Norfolk. She's a little crossbreed - obviously some staffy in there, but much slighter build and a little dot of a thing at only 12" high Holly's previous owner was disabled and for the last part of her life bedridden, and Holly was her constant companion, happy to snuggle up on her bed all day. After her owner's death poor Holly's world fell apart. Holly is little sweetheart, no trouble at all so long as she is able to accompany her foster mum everywhere, she's quite happy to trot along by her side and settle down for snuggles in the evenings. However she is very anxious about being left, even for a short time, and gets very distressed on her own. Holly will need an understanding home where she can have company most of the time, and who are prepared to be patient with her and work through her separation issues. Her foster mum is gradually introducing her to a crate, which she seems to like as her 'safe place'. Holly's full details will be on our website soon. We'd love to see her go to the right home as soon as possible, as we feel if she becomes too bonded with her current foster carer it's going to be another difficult transition for her to move again. She is fine with other dogs and loves people of all ages, but will chase cats! Edited May 25, 2009 by Fee

Fee
Bless her, she's proving to be a little sweetheart in her foster home. Her foster mum is crate-training her and she seems to like her little 'den' and is being left for short times now without getting distressed. She would make an absolutely fabulous little dog for an older person who wants a loyal companion, but she seems to love absolutely everybody including children so could also fit into a family with lots of different people around to make a fuss of her

dawnq
Need to change the heading to "Holly Houdini" as she's somehow managed to open her crate twice now!!.......... but other than chewed paper trails (and eating my Glastonbury hat ) I wouldn't say she's destructive. She's just sooooooo cute she just has to be forgiven.

Fee
Good thoughts for Holly today please, unfortunately she was found to have a large mammary lump which the vet was very concerned about After a lot of discussion with her vet, and weighing up her age and the nature of the lump, it seemed that her best chance for a good long-term outcome was to operate, so she had the lump removed this morning. The operation has gone well and she should be home later today. Longer term in view of Holly's health and her separation anxiety we have decided not to rehome her, and will be supporting her as an Oldies Club sponsor dog. We have a wonderful permanent foster home lined up for her where she will have company all the time, and she will be moving there as soon as she's well enough. Huge thank you to Dawn, her current foster mum, for looking after her so well and caring for her through the operation, you've been a star
