Bernie
My Scampi who is now 14 years old has quite a bit of plaque on some of his teeth, just wondering if anyone has tried this with their dogs and did it help? I do clean them on a regular basis but plaque is beginning to build up. I could take him to vet for a dental, but at 14 years old and not in the best of health I don't want to risk anaesthetic if possible.
Katiebob
Not tried Plaque Off but you could try using a dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide, on a bit of cotton wool. Hold it against each tooth for about a minute. Leave it a few hours or overnight and it will soften the plaque and you can scrape it off with your fingernail. You can buy dilute hydrogen peroxide from a chemist. It's recommended as a mild disinfectant or gargle/mouthwash. doggy.lover
I am using Plaque off on susie greyhound at the moment and I do think it's working. Her teeth aren't sparkling but the cr@p is easier to scrape off with the dental chisel now I'm using plaque off.
celeste
I was really disapointed with Plaque Off I didn't think it worked at all and I used three tubs of the stuff, and none of my dogs had particularly bad teeth, I've had better results with Logic dental chews available from Vet Uk
mooandboo
Islay wouldn't touch her food with Plaque Off in it I found the Sea Jerky Fish Fingers made from cod skins really helped ETA see the fish4dogs thread - they have an offer on at the moment Edited May 5, 2008 by mooandboo
greytgirl
I have used Plaque Off for the last year to 18months and I find its REALLY good, Tasha is 15 so her teeth arent sparkling but they are certainly much cleaner and her gums look much better
