galgogirl
This old boy was picked up by the police as a stray in a village near Frome, Somerset over the Easter holidays. He has a collar but no tags, and the Dog Warden is unable to scan him for a microchip until Tuesday. He must be about 10 years old and is very sweet natured, but quite worried and confused about what has happened to him. He is lame in one leg. We have collected him from the police station and he is being fostered until Tuesday. If you know who he is, please pm me.
ReikiAnge
Have you checked with Doglost? I couldn't see any similar dogs on there but they will be better at searching than me. I hope he has loving owners looking for him and can be reunited soon Does he have somewhere safe to go on Tues (via the warden)?
Sherlock Bones
Don't recognise him i'm afraid. had a 3 yr old scruffy brindle stolen from TQ area but your boy looks grey to me, and too old for our one. Please do send his pic and details over to [email protected] and he can go in the found section

galgogirl
He's on DogLost, along with every forum I can think of. I will be contacting the Dog Warden tomorrow and arranging to have him scanned and will find out if she has made any arrangements for him. If she hasn't, we (Greyhound and Lurcher Welfare and Rescue - GLWR) can take him, although I wouldn't like to see him in kennels, as he was very unhappy when the police tried to put him in their kennels. I think I would be looking for a foster home for him until the requisite number of days have expired for abandoned dogs, if that's what he is. I am still hoping that someone will come forward for him, although it seems unlikely.
ReikiAnge
Can I email the photo to a couple of people I know at Bath Cats & Dogs Home? Just in case they hear of someone looking for this dog? (The home is less than half an hour drive from Frome so it's feasible an owner would contact them if they lost their dog - I'm not sure if this is where the dog warden takes strays from Frome though). galgogirl
Just in case, would anyone in the Somerset/Wiltshire area like to foster this boy, if need be, until we can sort him out. He is entire, although his present fosterer has two bitches in season and he has paid no attention to them, we think he is past all that! He is very docile and sad and worried and responds very well to a bit of love and cuddles. He appears to be housetrained. We haven't cat-tested him. This boy desperately needs someone to love him and reassure him, at least in the short term until we can sort out some sort of future for him. Please pm me if you can help, and I will keep your details in case we need them for this sad old boy. If only Lily wasn't such a madam, or if I had a bigger house to separate them, I would foster him myself.
galgogirl
We now have a temporary foster home for him until we can sort out something permanent or long-term for him.
