Jacobean
When you say you fostered her was that for a rescue or a private arrangement? If rescue it might be worth contacting them and seeing if they can help or provide you with vouchers.

Fiona711
Actually you are quite lucky if the RSPCA can help you with £100 of the costs i had my Pyrnean Mountain Dog Bitch spayed and it cost me about £240 , which included a special kind of anethtetic as Pyr can take a bad reaction , i am on benifits and am not in an area where there is any help available but i managed to pay for it myself as i saw it as something she needed done for her own good . I think if i was you i would ask around a few vets in your area as the price you have been quoted does seem rather high for a much smaller dog Fiona xx
menage_a_trois
In my area spaying fees vary widely from vet to vet, so it`s worth phoning round. That price seems very high - my GSD will cost £130 and she`s a big dog.
Mrs Mop
When I used to issue the vouchers for the RSPCA, I used to tell the owner to ask the vet if they could pay weekly and when they have enough money in, the dog can then be spayed. With a voucher for £100, you are halfway there already.

Ian
Might be worth a look here http://www.tailwaggersclubtrust.com/ Whether it's only available via their Torbay centre or not I'm not sure but Blue Cross might be worth an enquiry too - see http://www.bluecross.org.uk/web/site/Media...pet_charity.asp
