susieq Posted September 27, 2006 Report Share Posted September 27, 2006 11/6/87 –27/9/03 Vischa Vampire (Kennel Club Obedience and Working Register) Vischa came to me at seven weeks old from my local rescue, an accidental Whippet/Collie mating. Hardly had a days sickness in her life but in her later years she lost her hearing completely and her eyesight started to fail. She was only happy if she was right next to me. When she turned sixteen I worried about getting the time right. One day I got up and the little spark she'd always had wasn't there. The other dogs stayed at home while just the two of us went and sat on the grass at the park. It was a lovely peaceful Autumn day. Not much was said. Not much needed to be. An hour later she was at the Bridge. I’m thinking about you a lot today my little darling. I know that you had to go, but I wanted to keep you forever Can I go now? If you think the time is right I’d say goodbye to silent days, the dark and endless nights We’ve been so many places, together, you and me Now let me take that step beyond and set my spirit free I want to go, I really do It's difficult to stay But I am trying, just for you, to live for one more day To give you time to care for me, remember all the years Your heart is broken into two, I see it in your tears.
