zico's mum
Have recently noticed water pooling in the soap dispenser drawer of my Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine.Any idea what would cause this and what I need to do about it? And could it cause a flood?? There's not much in there at the moment - about a teaspoon but it keeps coming back after I wipe out the drawer. K9Fran
Have you had the draw out and cleaned it thourghly?
zico's mum
Yes I do that weekly and give the area above the drawer a scrub down as well.I've just run through a high temperature maintenance wash as well to see if that helps.I'm facing a large repair bill for my car so don't want to have to call in a plumber or washing machine engineer if I can avoid it. Kerrio
Some just do.... stick it in the dishwasher on a regular basis. Also - as an alternative - use liquid detergent or the tablets in the wee bag thing that you shove in the drum.
zico's mum
Sorry maybe I wasn't clear - it's fresh water that's appearing that I'm worried about - surely water shouldn't be appearing there normally between washes after it's been wiped dry? In which case its probably limescale??? Hard water area? Either try something like calgon or buy a new machine....
