  1. hello and welcome I think you need to start a thread in dog chatter to show off pics of your lovely dogs
  2. bumping this up to see how everyone is getting on with them
  3. everything crossed that Nog hasn't done any damage (and rather relieved you did finish your wee before racing down the stairs ) I am back in the office today because I was feeling better, and went for a swim this morning. Right now I feel icky, dead tired and fuzzy headed. And still have period cramps too. Debating if I should opt for caffeine which will help short term, but make me feel worse later or just keep plodding on. woe is me even though I am not really ill like Michelle
  4. shame they haven't really looked into what other less energy intense feeding options there are....given that dogs are omnivorous and can thrive on low meat/no meat diets
  5. I just love the mental image of lots of pointy fings working on their mournful faces at drama skool
  6. *sulking because I have been poorly since Sunday so NO training at all* *grump* *scowl*
  7. Cross-posted from a training blog I keep, so sorry for the random training content but also shows how much progress the wee boy is making! And yesterday afternoon Farah was positively flirting with him Finn seems happy to be left out of the silliness but I'm afraid that FloozyFarah may have forgotten all about gorgeous Sparky
  8. awesome!!! though none are as impressive as HLGS' carving!
  9. glad to hear you have some official support through your work and sorry for putting my nose in, but personally I would opt for HG over psychotherapy any day - faster and therefore cheaper, less painful and more immediately effective. I found psychotherapy to be long and painful and often left feeling worse. HG always gave me coping strategies, taught me good self-relaxation and self-hypnosis and did not involve raking through past trauma. whatever you decide will be right for you though and still sending you much love
  10. All I wanted to do was access a BMJ article on research methods...and this came up! makes me think of HP Lovecraft!
  11. oh my - sounds like Mr Pickles has had some serious plastic surgery
  12. Hope all the poorly fugees are feeling better soon, afraid I have joined your ranks but hope its just temporary. Staying at home to work today in the hope I can still be productive *sigh* Really crap news JuliaGemstone hope something else comes along soon?
  13. Hey Sarah, sending lots and lots of love and hugs to you. Can I ask whereabouts you are living just now - I've had really brilliant results after just a couple of sessions with a Human Givens therapist and found it MUCH more useful than anything else I've tried over 20years of depression, anxiety and panic type attacks. http://www.hgi.org.uk/register/
  14. arrrrgh, must go and get some business stuff done - someone tell me to be productive please!
  15. a marmalade pussy cat and then once I was a little bit older, I wanted to be a writer
  16. I adore my work sometimes, not necessarily the department but the university - not only do they now offer soy milk in the coffee bars, they've started selling vegan chocolate cake too!!!
  17. Oh Jules, I've nothing at all useful to suggest but do keep reading this thread and thinking of you and Ollie
  18. good morning lurgified peeps and others I am still quite sore from yesterday and rather sleepy, but can't wait to do it all over again all going well with foster beastie so far too, just wish he dodn't bark at 4am
  19. survived the 10k and really enjoyed it. Relaxing on sofa with tea and fresh bread with homemade jam *yum*
  20. I knew you'd catch the bug too!!! Race report: woo hoo!! 10k in 1hour 2mins despite several long hills, only walked a couple times to drink. split time was 31.15/ 30.45 for each half! Course was around Harewood House outside Leeds and described as hilly and challenging...on the plus side it was much more interesting that way and I'm more used to running on rough ground than tarmac, but the 1.5k of steady incline was a bit painful *ouch* First time I've run that far and I still loved it. Bizarrely I'm still running at the same pace I run a 5k, and indeed during a triathlon. I think I might only have one speed!
  21. oooh - what do I need to send you or do to get the blog from our triathlon together? Sorry if you already told me
  22. I knew someone on here had a brilliant experience - snow! I have some of the use it daily and build up lotions, and its okay but I don't always have time and it feels greasy against my skin. My other slight worry is that I go swimming 2-3 times a week and am terrified that chlorine would turn me a funny colour!!!
  23. Ah! genius that you are - and more procrastination from PhDing too....
  24. So I know I've been suckered in by popular culture etc, but I think I look better/healthier/slimmer with a bit of a tan - normally I am peelie wallie white like a proper Scots girl. I use Dove self-tanning lotion when I remember which gives me a bit of colour in my legs, but wanted to know about other options. I'm definitely not willing to consider a sun bed though! There's a salon at my local swimming pool which offers spray tan or hand-applied tan - is there much difference, does it take ages, and most importantly how long does it last?
  25. I yam in need of a swift kick up the behind to get me working on more PhD stuff please
