The cats love her big woolly coat so she usually always has a little visitor or two snuggling up with her these nights. Will definitely go for the large one.

Would these by high off the ground? One of my elderly collies needs something comfortable and waterproof but she has arthritis and finds it hard to step up on to and off things.

I have a cotton tapestry type suite and I think I must have spent half my life (since I got it) trying to hoover the hairs out of it - seriously, I spend ages at it. . I think it's definitely time for a leather one. I don't mind if it scratches, it'll just be so lovely to have a sofa not constantly coated in dog hair.
