  1. Nora is at the vets again, fifth time in less than 3 weeks
  2. He can actually squish up real small so he fits himself on nicley lol Marian, Tony says anytime your down this way. He gets a bit upset cos when he plays with other pups around here he runs to them and they vanish (underneath him!) and he doesnt get where they went lol Tony had his bits off yesterday and was a total hit Spent most the time sat with the receptionists. Girl was a bit miffed when he wouldnt walk up the stairs from the reovery room and she had to carry him tho!
  3. The day he arrived... And cleaned up watching the world go by
  4. welllll... in theory he has another 11 months of growing to do
  5. Thought id share some updated pics of tony. 7 mths 23" to the shoulder and 35kgs in weight. Theres a huge dane influence in him! Excuse the pained expression, he hates sitting still!
  6. Have given arnica for the brusing but not sure it will work on the fluid itself?
  7. What do you make of this? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7032736.stm Just saw this and not sure what i make of it tbh . Dont know much about cerebal palsy but got me thinking of a little boy i know who has several difficulties including severe austism. Now had he been female I have no doubt that having periods would likely cause huge mental distress as he (she!) simply would not understand and be terrified. anyway, just thought it was very interesting thing....
  8. Thats a good idea except i cant do that with nora Being so heavy built she gets hot very quickly and if i put any covering at all on her she would get ill quite quickly Sounds like the same thing I was hoping that with the stitches gone the fluid wouldnt come back or at least be less, but so far it looks the same amount to me Dont know wether to get it drained again or give it time to see if it settles down on its own? Also we are now in week three of rest and shes beginning to drive me bonkers lol
  9. Mutant ninja nora was spayed a couple of weeks ago. 10 days later went in for stitches out and had a drain due to fluid build up caused by reaction to stitches and/or overdoing it. Couldnt take stitches out(wanted it fully healed incase fuild built up again). Waited one week and fluids back again. Stitches allowed out and another drain, instructions to keep her quiet. Crated kept totally calm, next day and the fluids back again. Problem imho is her build, shes so damn square that walking takes a bit of effort lol Shes too solid...any suggestions? I heard of a similar case and they had to do a second op to tighten the skin that had stretched due to the fluid...would rather avoid that!
  10. I used to live near that park. Bad place for bullbreeds. Run free sweetheart
  11. Anxiety avaliable @PAH for £10 a btl. Boo digs through walls during fireworks. Foams at the mouth shakes and vomits. Tried rescue remedy, no effect, Dorwest Skullcap and Valerian made him sick, DAP nothing. Anxiety given every 15 mins for an hour early evening late afternoon and he sleeps. Also used on pipers new fear of vets, shes still scared but markedly so and will follow me there instead of trying to escape.
  12. My second child was born with hip displacia. From a few days old she worn a fabric brace which held her body in a odd position so i couldnt cuddle her properly. When she was around 6 mths the fabric brace was replaced with a hip spica. That is a plaster cast .that started under her arms and went down her trunk and both legs, right to her toes. The only part of my daughter i could touch where her arms neck and head. She had that cast changed every 6 weeks and stayed in it for a year. Holding your child is the most underated, taken for granted thing and anyone who says you shouldnt do it is an ass.
  13. Sorta like calling a sbt x a pit bull i guess...ho hum
  14. Note to self: you prefer dogs to bitches, you always have. The reason is showing itself well in nora, a tad hormonal after spaying, who is woooooooing and grumbling and barking to go out/come in/have a stroke/chew/toy/be left alone/go for walks/sleep This is now day three, the girl needs to settle them hormones quick cos i got a headache lol
  15. Alas he has waited for his 7 days in the hopes someone nice would be looking but no one did
  16. Meet percy Percy is in a foster home for fireside rescue after being found straying how can you throw out this belly? It needs kisses!!! Another ab type in rescue
  17. Section 3 dangerous dogs act. Aggravated offence as owner bitten so could have a higher penaltie of up to two years in prison instead of six months if heard before a jury instead of magistrate.
  18. Stop smiling you loon. Its pishing down here . I am going to get soaked
  19. You would take the councils word for it?! Face it the email or whatever has probably made them think that. I thought several others have. First thought in fact. Its highly possible that will be the result of this scheme and that is not what we are about. Bull breed adviosry service based on a majority vote (ones slacking so we aint checked her thoughts yet lol) Do NOT support this and will not support it and will fight it if need be.... for the record.
  20. You didnt answer the question lesley..... Not the case... i recall somewhere a prosed ban...cant remember if actually went thro i think it did but it got lifted...all without exempting dogs.
  21. Incase you missed this. Also Thast makes it sound like council tennants are crap owners!
  22. Lesley, One question for you... Can you be 100 percent sure, that not one of the council contacted with this idea have not thought "ooo that dog control order we wanted to put in but didnt because we might get grief...well now we can do it because we can exempt some dogs so get more support" Can you say with 100 percent certainly that has not occured?
  23. Also...One of the biggest problems with training issues isnt that the owners dont get there is a problem. Many see the problem clearly. But trainers and behaviourists? they scare the hell out of joe bloggs. They think they are going to be told how wrong they are doing things. this is often the case but they dont want to be inspected on their training methods. So they dont go....behaviourists are like shrinks in their opinions. We found the same even with the merseyside people. We offer full behaviourist backup (not us a friend!) few will ring off their own backs. Yet we get julie (behaviourist) to ring them and they realise she isnt going to disect their whole life and bingo. Change that perception in joe bloggs and you have a start.
  24. ok...Look at the very core of the idea, before you even get to the tests ect. It says (from what i see) Councils put dog control orders in place. Owners/dogs can be exempt if they pass a test. Surley you can see that this will lead to more councils attempting to put dog control orders in place full stop? Simply because some dogs can be exempted? The help for dog owners is already there. It always has been and promoting those things is great. But not by forcing people to take a test to walk their dogs freely. That wont make you friends and wont make you more open to joe bloggs coming forward. I agree totally that many people make their own mistake, i hear it day in day out. But making those same people take tests? It will scare them away.
  25. Lesley, do you know what is in these tests? Debs said she hasnt figured those out yet yet you said no dog would fail. If there is more info then maybe we should know what it is? Also any positive reply could be councils seeing there insurance going down, property going up in price and a way to get control orders with a little less grief from the public.
