  1. WI tomorrow 9am!!(I cannot believe someone posted a clip of me on You tube playing my sax in a band - I am still a big blob ) (Sad details hidden in RMF)
  2. Gonna hide this here - you might know I play a little Tenor Sax with a Pub band just for fun. Anyway some bright spark thought they'd tape a bit and post it on You tube - I'm the blob in the right hand corner.
  3. That's fantastic - many congratulations!! I'm panicking as there was no weigh in last Saturday due to Easter and I'm having a feeling fat sort of time for some reason. I didn't realise how much of a crutch the weekly wi was!
  4. Very sorry for all of Winnie's family and his 100's of friends.
  5. Thank you very much, it's great having folk who understand supporting you
  6. Happy Birthday - hope you have a great day:)
  7. I am trying to arrange some Sax lessons locally as I have started playing my Tenor with some friends in a band and desperately need to brush up on my playing. Someone recommended a teacher to me who has a website - is it just me or is he rather nice looking? ;) http://www.ewenbaird.com/
  8. At weigh in on Saturday I'd lost another 2.5 lbs so that's 2 stone 8.5lbs lighter (sounds better than 36.5lbs - I wonder why?) than I was in January - I am really pleased. We don't have a class this coming weekend due to Easter so I mustn't slack off! Gary lost another 2.5lbs even though he is now 5lbs below goal - silly boy (must have forgotten how to eat) Courtney lost 1.5 so that's 25lb for her. I made her May Ball Dress at the weekend - the Corset is a size 10-12!! Well done to everyone, Wendy I'm very jealous of your Size 14 - that's wonderful Aly
  9. Oooh lost another 2 lbs this week that's 34 lb since January 10th and I'm especialy chuffed My start weight was 16:05 and I'm now 13.13 - still a porker but nearer to that 9:13 that I'm hoping for!
  10. Wow - that's excellent well done
  11. Aww thanks Sam At WW Dianne the leader says to measure as, if you are toning up, what you don't see on the scales, you may see on the tape measure.
  12. I don't think I posted my WI results on Saturday did I? Anyway I lost 4lbs (dunno how exactly - same ol same ol foodwise) so that's 31 lbs now - very pleased. Gary is now at goal and looking a little scrawny tbh - he'd better start weight training again soon cos there's not much to grab atm ;) Courtney put on 2lb and has been very grouchy all week as a result but it might stop the constant grazing she does so it might be a good thing. I need a new achieveble goal now that I've lost 2 stone - any ideas?? as 3 stone off seems a long way off although that will be my half way point then.
  13. Many Happy returns Mel
  14. Thank you Although I can run a bit faster with Merlyn (tbh it's not hard to outrun Merlyn the Valium Collie) I cannot really see any difference - even when looking at the "before" pictures we took. One of my main inspirations is Wendy - she looks fantastic and Andrea who does too, I think it's because I knew them pre-shrinkage
  15. I have to say that it is so much easier than all the times I have dieted in the past - the shopping and cooking is so much easier! I do have to take my elder daughter and b/f shopping seperately as she is 19 wks pregnant!
  16. On the first day, she sadly packed her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases. On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things. On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining-room table, by candle-light; she put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of spring-water. When she'd finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimps dipped in caviar into the hollow centre of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left. On the fourth day, the husband came back with his new girlfriend, and at first all was bliss. Then, slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything; cleaning, mopping, and airing-out the place. Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which time the two had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked! People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in the house. The maid quit. Finally, they couldn't take the stench any longer, and decided they had to move, but a month later - even though they'd cut their price in half - they couldn't find a buyer for such a stinky house. Word got out, and eventually even the local estate agents refused to return their calls. Finally, unable to wait any longer for a purchaser, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place. Then the ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for having the house. Knowing she could have no idea how bad the smell really was, he agreed on a price that was only 1/10 th of what the house had been worth ... but only if she would sign the papers that very day. She agreed, and within two hours his lawyers delivered the completed paperwork. A week later the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home .... .. and to spite the ex-wife, they even took the the curtain rods!
  17. Another successful week for the family this week We all lost again - phew! The three of us have now lost a total of 80 pounds since 10th January! So pleased - especially with my daughter Courtney who has struggled this week but managed to lose 4lbs and my OH who, like me lost 2.5 lbs. Thanks to everyone who posts here - you are a mine of information and inspiration! I am now 1 pound away from losing 2 stone - I can hardly believe it.
  18. Our Weigh in yesterday morning was ok (despite the silly woman wrongly sayng Courtney had put on half a pound when she had actually lost 1.5lbs - that caused an angry daughter for the morning!) lost another 2.5 and Gary lost another 4lb. A lady at my Agility class filled a rucksack with 25lbs of Sand to show how much extra I was carrying 2 months ago - no wonder I was slow!
  19. You are a proper inspiration Wendy - stunning loss and to maintain it as well is fantastic! I do worry slightly that I may have the same problem I did 16 years ago on WW and not be able to maintain my goal weight as it is just too light for me to be able to cope with. 9st 13lbs seems a bloomin long way away
  20. Yeah either of those would do it
  21. Odd musing really but I cannot wait until I lose all that I want to (6 stones) and then go on a fugee walk and have people notice - see said it was odd. I think I'll wear a Catsuit (...yeah right)
