  1. Exactly. Greyhounds are routinely killed here in the UK are they not? I don't really see us as being any better than Spain. We have greyhound racing, factory farming etc... we are just less open about the consequences. I hope Tigre gets the help that he needs.
  2. I *think* if you are just linking to the youtube page then Deednotbreed wouldn't have to worry about the copyright. You can link to a page and say that they you are not responsible for the content of it. If you were to actually host the video on the site and use it as the Deebnotbreed video then you would need to worry about it. If you want to find out about it you can use the contact details HERE to ask MCPS (Mechanical Copyright Protection Society) about rates for online use of that music. If you explain that you are a voluntary group etc you may get permission to use it for free. Rachel, I think that is a really nice video. It explains the issues very clearly and isn't even vaguely offensive. You have some really nice photos too.
  3. Oooh half term holidays. Will see what I can do
  4. I have had an email saying that the court hearing has been adjurned and therefore this gathering has been postponed.
  5. That is what has annoyed me the most. I was fuming at work today.
  6. A charity for children and adults with learning disabilities has launched a campaign highlighting the greater donations given to animal charities. The full story can be found here: BBC News I'd really like to know what people make of this advert.
  7. Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep would be good I think.
  8. I just played it to everyone at work. Fundraising idea... we all sponsor Mel to audition for X Factor
  9. My OH goes shopping at random. Suddenly after 6 months of being oblivious he goes to the shops. He never tells me he is going and that means he doesn't have a list. He usually spends about fifty quid on bog all and I have to take deep breaths and bite lip etc because whilst I am pleased he has that acknowledged we need to go shopping, I am fuming at the fact he has spent all the money and we don't actually have any meals.
  10. Yes they were both in normal hours etc. Same surgery but two different vets. I think the newer vet may have made a mistake, or it could just be that someone hit the wrong button by accident. When the initial bill came in at £121 I thought it seemed a bit steep for two tiny stitches but wasn't sure whether to bother querying it. Since then my other dog has had the same done and it was a fraction of the cost so that now has me thinking that we were overcharged after all. I don't feel criticised don't worry You can have a contro thread about vets fees if you want I'm sure. It is about vets fees, not me moaning about vets fees
  11. I don't criticise the general cost of vet treatment. I also still buy my wormers and flea stuff from the vet rather than online. I have queried a vet bill this week because my dogs have had the same treatment on the past couple of weeks (a couple of stitches) yet one bill was four times the cost of the other. I have an itemised receipt and so I can refer to the cost of the actual stitches, regardless of the cost of the required drugs. One of my dogs had two stitches and I was charged £80 just for the sutures. Another dog had 4 stitches and I was charged £32 for the sutures (which are described identically on the receipts).
  12. I think it is hard to compare real life with a forum. If you are face to face with someone you can get a better idea of their intentions, tone of voice etc. On a forum you can't always tell what people are or are not inferring. It is easier to get offended or annoyed and often it usually boils down to the fact that the reader has misinterpretted the intentions of the poster.
  13. They have their own website here: website
  14. We recommend TRPD coats. We have tiger stripe, cow print and waterproofs too.
  15. MPs Meet At Westminster To Address Greyhound Welfare Eric Martlew MP today announced the membership of the parliamentary enquiry, which will investigate the issues surrounding the welfare of greyhounds in British racing. Mr Martlew, MP for Carlisle and Chair of the Associate Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare (APGAW), gathered the members of the enquiry together at Westminster to meet some ex-racing greyhounds currently at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The Associate Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare is a cross-party parliamentary group of over 80 MPs and Peers and over 70 Associate animal welfare organisations, which aims to further the cause of animal welfare by all means available to the Parliaments at Westminster and in Europe. Pictured (from left to right) are: Lord Bradley, Ali Evans (Battersea Dogs & Cats Home), Nick Palmer MP, Eric Martlew MP, Russell Brown MP, Ellie Richmond (Battersea Dogs & Cats Home), Harry Cohen MP, Andrew Rosindell MP and greyhounds Benny and Sonny (Benny and Sonny are looking for new homes and their details are posted below) Mr. Martlew said: “We decided the time was ripe for a parliamentary enquiry following high profile allegations in the Sunday Times regarding healthy greyhounds being shot at the end of their racing career. I’m delighted that there are so many senior members of both houses sitting on the enquiry. We will investigate the many issues that affect the welfare of racing greyhounds and, with the co-operation of both the racing industry and welfare groups, we hope to make useful recommendations that will improve the welfare of greyhounds at all stages of their lives†The enquiry is chaired by Eric Martlew MP and the members of the enquiry are: • Alan Meale MP • Andrew Rosindell MP • Baroness Golding • Harry Cohen MP • Lord Beaumont of Whitley • Lord Bradley • Lord Hoyle • Nick Palmer MP • Russell Brown MP • Theresa Villiers MP

  18. I'm back from toy place with something nice for Millie. Unfortunately all the Thomas the Tank stuff was for really little kids (18 months) so there was nothing suitable for Gavin.
  19. Great topic Well Alan Meale spoke about greyhounds. I can't locate the exact speech though. I think he was perhaps responsible for an Early Day Motion?

  21. Hello I'm having trouble archiving my pm's too. I've read Loobies thread so I think I know what to do now. The only thing I don't know how to do is change my registered email address. I had a look around the control panel but couldn't find a way to do it. Thanks
