    Yahoo Mail

Just had a bit of a battle with it myself. I've got Yahoo personalised as my home page. It was showing I had email but when I clicked I kept getting 'page can't be displayed'. Typed 'Yahoo' into address bar and went off to main Yahoo page, clicked on email, logged in and got there straight away. Might be worth a go
  2. I've had this thread pointed out to me this morning by a very kind person wondering if there was anything I could do to help. I had actually seen the ad a few days ago,Trade It is my local free ads paper and I check through it regularly. I'm afraid that there really isn't anything I can do in this case - I certainly can't afford to buy her (much as I'd like to) and even if I could it will only encourage him to keep offering his unwanted dogs knowing that rescue will pay him for them. Harsh as it sounds it could even encourage some people to breed or obtain dogs for next to nothing and 'sell' them to rescue for a profit. I am sorry to sound so unhelpful and please be assured that if I thought it was someone who would let her go into rescue and then be done with dogs I'd have been on the phone to them days ago. I've done it several times before and will continue to do so. This isn't a 'one off' as he's advertising in the same issue FOR a Lurcher bitch. Anybodys guess how long it will be before that poor unfortunate is up for sale as well Brightest Blessings on you for caring Sparkle Sue.
  3. Hi Owl. Not sure if you're aware of this survey. Forwarded to me by a friend but I don't know where it originated or who the person is collating the info. I would imagine it's probably a Dog Warden with that e-mail address? Dear All I was wondering if you could help a colleague collect data on dogs killed as a result of fireworks. What he is looking for is information on the number of dogs killed in your area for a 4 week period starting with 2 weeks before 5th November and ending 2 weeks after. He will need the dates the dogs were killed. Please could you try to help him by emailing any info to [email protected] Mandy Dorman
  4. Thank you for the lovely friendly replies Houndwoman - Paula has a very busy day lined up today but as soon as I can speak with her later I'll ask if she got your e-mail. Here's a photo of Flynn
  5. Sincere apologies for starting a thread when I haven't actually introduced myself properly on this forum. I run the Bristol branch of The Retired Greyhound Trust. A friend/colleague with a neighbouring Greyhound Rescue has the problem outlined below and we are urgently looking for help for this boy:- Posted on behalf of Greyhound Welfare and I quote:- "Flynn, aged 10 years was returned to Greyhound Welfare after 6 plus years in a home. Nasal problems were immediately apparent although he can still enjoy life and outings. Several weeks of tests, a biopsy and an x-ray have produced a diagnosis of Aspergillosis (fungal infection of the nasal cavity) Apparently it is often seen in cows and pigeons. We estimate that it has been brewing for 12—18 months and we have two veterinary opinions that euthanasia would be the logical course in a dog of his age. Volunteers feel that while he can still have some quality of life and there are home carers willing to clear up after his nose bleeds and nasal congestion we need to look at any other options available. Although he has nose bleeds, he does not appear to be suffering the associated back pain, laimness or swellings that herald the later stages." If anyone has any experience or knowledge of this condition and could offer advice on where we go next to cure/ make Flynn more comfortable we would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Flynn is with Greyhound Welfare. Contact number is Paula on 01633892846.
