  1. lol i get a lot of the old people thing. Lost count of the amount of times people said it to me when I was climbing Ben Lomond in preparation for Ben Nevis. Thankfully they are always joking that I dont qualify for the oldies club lol

  5. Well yesterday was the day, and we made it So proud of Totts, words can't describe. She struggled not going to lie but she done better than us haha. Everyone always has that special moment emotional or physical up there and with me it was with Totts. She worked herself so hard, she struggled climbing the rocks but done it to stick with me. Because of how much she pulled behind it took much longer than expected and the pulling behind made me struggle much more. A friend took her lead and I walked in front. She pulled forward to stay with me. Always felt shes not been that bothered by me and cares more for Muffin meant so much how much she wanted to be with me. Hasn't left my side since the climb and has even stopped jumping away from people she normally would and so far hasn't been so scared of loud noises. Anyhoo back to Ben Nevis. It bucketed near enough the entire time. Only saw one break of sunlight and it was just before going into the clouds and at the "easiest" part lol! It took us around 7 and a half hours. With a lot of breaks! Heres the pics I have so far will no doubt post more. View from the camp-site. Not even half I reckon, the rest above the cloud to the right. Soaked through We've not been put off, we're doing the West Highland Way next year! Toughest thing I have ever done in my life. Im in agony just now. Not too far off my target now. Really hope to reach it. MyJustGiving Page Laura x
  6. lot of positive thoughts for the gorgeous Mac x
  7. I can tell Muffins a mile away. Its funny she has such a manly deep bark. Wheras Totts has a very puppy like bark. also Totts doesnt bark very often but Muffin loves and opportunity to be heard
  8. Amy that is awsome! Exactly the sort of awareness I was looking for, thank-you really appreciate it. And what a brill pic of Ben Nevis you found as well. Thanks , don't worry I will be boring you all keeping u'z up to date on whats going on (will try my best to limit photos so not too pic heavy!)

  12. Hi Amy, Tried e-mailing twice now both times sent back a failed delivery notification. Any ideas? Thanks Laura
  13. They look so much like my little totts its ridiculous. Squeak is identical to totts' sister! If i had more room theyd be coming to scotland
  14. Its a very scary thought but if I can raise a fair amount of money it will all be worth it. Have never done anything like this before :O But its not all doom and gloom we're staying over night at the bottom of the mountain to have a celebratory party before the long drive home. Could be a 10 hour climb and decent if the weather is poor :o Will get some pics of me Muffin and Totts in training for you tomorrow Thanks Amy
  15. Evening All, Just wanted to spread awarness of my plans to climb the tallest mountain in the UK for Oldies I have planned to do this since joining the forum but wanted to get to grips with the club properly before posting anything lol On the 11th of September 2010 myself and a few friends will be climbing Ben Nevis in aid of various charities. Totts will be acompanying me on the climb (as healthy as Muffin is I would never forgive myself if something were to happen to her) Ill be doing a practice run on Ben Lomond on the 28th August with Muffin and Totts will post updates of our progress. Was just looking to see if anyone could help spread awareness because of course I want to raise as much money as possible. I have had many sponser offers from my training club but as they are helping a lot on an upcoming stall atm I wont mention the climb until after ive done my practice run of Ben Lomond. Any awareness would be much appreciated Thanks Laura My fundraising page
  16. Ebay Dont know if steel but its cheaper and pop up? Im thinking of maybe getting one myself.
  17. I dont know how expensive it would be to make a fun tag, but if it were I agree it would be better with like your standard slogans and the web page. You always get people looking at your tags in general so its like a constant advertisement lol. I know id get them for mine if it would spread awareness and could sell them where you's sell the dog jackets/jumpers etc. But suppose that all depends on how much it would cost to get made up. Maybe im a bit tight with money but i tend to spend about a fiver or less on my id tags which hang from a splitter. I pay more for my indigo tags obviously.
  18. lol ignore previous post. Cant find delete button!
  19. Thats so sad. What idiot would ask that! Brings round my problem with people, too many seem to see dogs as an item or possesion not a living thing, member of the family who has feeling too. We had a newbie ask at the training club yesterday if a great dane was a grey hound. You just have to laugh sometimes.
  20. Sure, anything I can do to help Im more than happy to do.. I basically live right in central scotland so the main towns (Glasgow and Edinburgh) are an easy commute for me. I can do from Stirling down to the borders if that would help Debbie.
  21. Hey if this event is still available I could do it rather that the Dogs Trust Gala Day. Depends which one you guys reckon would be most beneficial. I felt the last dogs trust gala day went really well but Ive never been to the other one. Let me know
  22. Just going through old posts lol As you's know more than happy to try get the Club more well know and recognised in Scotland. Glasgow to Edinburgh/ Fife etc are an easy commute for me and I tend to keep an eye on doggy happenings in these areas. L x
  23. Ha ha thank you very much everyone for your warm welcome.
