  1. Hope you had a very happy birthday Roxy, what a sweetie! By the way what HAS she got in her mouth in the first picture???
  2. I'm sorry to hear that Louie has been poorly, hope he feels better soon. Tag is back to normal now, even did a couple of prancy/leapy things as she was about to go for a walk yesterday.
  3. First thing would be to rule out any health issues then it is a case of detective work to find out the cause. It can often be stress, e.g. if a stray cat is hanging about and bullying/frightening the existing cat so they are afraid to go outside. I have a cat who by nature is very nervous and will wee on the bed or carpet. She is now 12 years old and has been here since a kitten. She spends a lot of time in the bedroom with a litter tray but if she has had a poo in the tray first she won't then use the tray for a wee and even if I leave two litter trays her little brain won't think to use the second one! So it can also be a toileting issue. It can be very hard to find the reason and I had to try many different solutions, I'd say we are 96% there now. It may not be relevant in your case but my cats urine sometimes smells very strongly of ammonia and when I asked the vet if this was significant she said it implies that she has been holding herself for a long time (then when she does go it's like a flood).
  4. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of both Tessie and Archie. RIP little ones.
  5. What a smasher I'm so glad you've got him now. Is that a long tail I see or a smudge on the lens? Wiltshire seems to be the spaniel headquarters at the moment!
  6. Guess who's been shopping today? Well it is cold isn't it?
  7. She's 12 and a half years old. The cats are in varying degrees of surprise but as it generates no reaction from Cassie I'm sure they will get bored with that soon! She is tiny though so I hope we can build her up a little bit.
  8. Little Cassie is safely home and has taken it all in her stride, cats, BIG (compared to her lol) dog, long car ride, sooo many cat beds to try out and now she's exhausted. Bless her. She's a little darling!
  9. Many thanks for the collar and lead Fiona it arrived safely today. All I need now is the dog!
  10. That's the plan but you know what they say about plans, best laid or otherwise!!!!
  11. Thanks Fiona thats very kind of you.
  12. Thanks very much. As soon as the collar arrives(!?) I will measure it and let you know. (Very mysterious! )
  13. Aww thanks Amy, can you tell I'm a tad excited!
  14. Does anyone know where these leads are sold? I'd be interested in buying one.
  15. I would be interested in one of these, cocker size would be good. If they fit over the collar (as oppose to round the neck) does it mean that size is less important i.e. a small one could be used for a larger dog? How much are they please? Many thanks.
  16. Happy Birthday! Hope you're having a great day.
  17. How exciting! She looks gorgeous. Hope all goes well.
  18. Yes I am pleased to see that. That one got to me, I suppose because of her great age.
  19. I have sent the rescue an email suggesting they list on Oldies Club site. I don't know how to do proper link but the details of the rescue/dog are: www.manytears.co.uk and dogs name is Child (or Childie). I agree about her being safe in foster but as they are looking to rehome her (perhaps the fosterer WILL keep her?) I suppose ideally a home nearby would be best. She deserves some good luck now.
  20. I have just seen details of a collie rescued from Ireland and now in foster in Wales that is 20 yrs old. My heart breaks for it. I want to help but don't know the best way. Not sure if me offering it a home would be right, (long journey, don't know dog/cat status etc.) so maybe just raising awareness is best I can do but not sure of the rules for posting here. Any advice?
  21. Thanks Diane good suggestion I've done that now.
  22. HLGS I just wondered if you had received the tablets ok? I am a little worried now perhaps I should have waited a little longer before posting.
  23. Thank you Diane I'm glad they arrived safely and I'm sure the Oldies Club will be please with your generous donation. HLGS just wondering if your Rimadyl have arrived I posted them before Smirnoffs tablets? I imagine you are very busy just now but I do hope they haven't gone astray.
  24. Yesterday I baked a fruit cake for the first time in 25 years and commented that it could do with more fruit in it. OH said well at least it tasted like cake!
  25. I want to lose some weight and become fitter and more supple so that I am not so much like a blob of jelly on the horse at riding lessons. Hopefully taking up pilates in the New Year. Also there is a small void left in our house that needs filling, so a new pooch would be nice!
