  1. RMF: I want to slap the man in the volvic water advert.
  2. As an alternative (or in the meantime) have they tried The Cinnamon Trust for help with walking? http://www.cinnamon.org.uk/
  3. really? oooh i'm glad it was a baby... it didn't half munch me! The police at the show threatened me with their Medic, whose policy was to send all animal bites to hospital. I went to the castle medics, who cleaned up the hole and disinfected me and sent me on my way a plaster and then went on to boast to the police medic that they'd now had two more injuries than they did and the only fox bite of the show
  4. Bugger. The budgie that Fee4 brought up to me after she rescued him has just been making a right racket flapping around the cage and annoying his mate Billy... and now is looking very poorly indeed, all of a sudden. He's still whistling but isn't looking right at all, very unbalanced... I know he's fairly old but no idea of his actual age and I'm not sure if he's ok and mucking around or getting old... although he is lifting up one leg as if he's injured it (he was fine just now!!) I'm hoping its a strain. Poor Fred
  5. Doglost had to venture into being Foxlost today as I stood in the road and prevented a baby fox from being roadkill...fortunately all the traffic stopped at the sight of the mad woman in Doglost uniform waving like a maniac. I have a munched finger and The Fox Project have a 3 week old cub. He was guarded all day long by lots of Policemen at the Police Handlers show at leeds castle until he could be gotten to The Fox Project (flipping brilliant charity - absolute stars for taking him in)
  6. I bought cigs just in case I also called my accountant to instruct her to make a loss in the accounts. She laughed at me and told me it wasn't allowed, just to claw back last years tax. Meanie. Hmmm perhaps it isn't quite accurate then... maybe i won't rush out and spend the money they say I'll have
  7. Oddly I've just used the BBC budget calculator... and it says I'll be around £1500 better off this financial year - though i'm in the same circumstances as you (although yours should be better than that for I'm not the employer, I'm an employee). Doesn't make sense - aren't the budgets in a recession supposed to help those more in need than I? do you care after drinking it? I have spent all day doing interviews and am glad I don't work in PR like some of you.... how can you do all that nicety when some of the people are numpties?
  8. Oh they are stunning dogs!! Welcome to the refuge
  9. The RSPCA inspector has telephoned me and she IS investigating my neighbour: she told me that they were already aware of her I honestly don't think the dogs are in poor condition I just believe the owner is less than intelligent and doesn't understand that training a dog to an obedience champion is sufficient to care for it 24/7. So so sad.
  10. BTW the same thing happened with Cassie & Meg when I lost Dougal... the dynamic changed considerably. It changed again when Muppet arrived (for the better - they stopped competing for my attention) it takes some adjustment I think... they've lost too I guess.
  11. Have you written your email yet Sam?
  12. *sigh* I have reported my neighbour to the RSPCA. I'm not sure they can help but I couldn't live with myself if i did nothing. Last night I woke to the sound of a collie barking at 2am. Constantly. I leapt out of bed, ready to shout at Meg and found myself in the dining room, looking at Meg fast asleep in her crate... Cassie was asleep on her bed and Muppet was wondering what the commotion was about in his crate. I went back to bed, thinking I was going mad. But no, the dog was still barking... by which time I work out its at the front of the street, not the gardens.. so i lean out my window to see a young lad trying to catch a barking collie. I figure all is ok... and go back to bed. It carries on. I get dressed and grab a lead and storm up the street, only to see young lad wandering to his house on a mobile 2 doors away. I yell about barking dogs at 2am and how i've had enough and slip my lead over the poor dogs terrified head. Then stand in the street wondering wtf to do with it. Lad walks back to me, he is on the phone to the police about said stray... but on looking on the dogs collar it's actually one of the dogs (5 of) that belong to the tenant of the house we're standing in front of. Neighbours appear from no-where and next door neighbour confirms that tenant isn't currently living there because they're supposedly doing the house up. Now you can smell this house a mile off. That rancid horrid dog smell. Police can't help, RSPCA won't help collect dog and it's 2am. If i take dog home, Meg will lose the plot. In conjunction with police because we know who dog belongs to, we agree to deposit dog in back garden of it's own house for the time being. We obtain serious amounts of torches to visit the back alley to access the garden, which we smell before we get there. Back fence is not only broken down but previously badly patched with wire... and there are 2 more dogs in the garden. Another neighbour has seen another dog that has long disappeared with the one I was holding... and between us we make sure the 3 remaining dogs are in the garden and we patch up the fence to ensure no more break outs. four neighbours in PJs now know each other far better than we did before.... however on thinking of it today, I decide that no matter how well a dog looks (it was fine in coat, and size/weight/condition), leaving it permanently in an unsecure garden isn't ensuring it's wellbeing. The RSPCA weren't sure if they could help (I have seen neighbour in street in last week so am pretty sure dogs not abandoned), and the dogs were in good nick - but not safe, which is where they thought the inspector could step in. I do hope so.
  13. She's tweeted you her email address... oooh now go off and compose the entire story of Dogstar... don't forget Sirius.... give em a good story!
  14. :jumpy: SAM!!!! Beverley Cuddy wants you to email!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Nah you'll be addicted soon I have it on all day at work... my staff think i'm a genius with all the hot news topics i can report on instantly...
  16. Cher I think you did brilliantly - as murtle says it will have been a shock for your daughter as she wasn't there when her son needed help - that must be hard to hear - she will be fine once she realises you coped brilliantly and allowed her to have a peaceful stressfree holiday while you took it in hand (i'm reading that back and it sounds a bit patronising... but i don't mean it like that, hope it's not read that way... ) RMF: I was called to a meeting in London today... I have far far better things to do and far far too much stress to have to add a London meeting to the pile of things to do. The client met us and opened the meeting with "so, what have you come to talk to us about?" wtf? gently it was broken to him that he requested our presence and we had no idea why we were at a meeting
  17. hover your mouse over their picture and you'll see four boxes appear in it's place... the top left one says reply... click on it... hang on i'm on it now let me do it to you (oor er and you can do it back.... if nothing else it'll promote dogstar to my followers lol)
  18. Sam I use TweetDeck - what is it you're confused with?
  19. Oh the poor mite!! But just think how gorgeous her coat is going to be!!! Seriously if you want a good whitening shampoo then i recommend a brand by Chris Christiansen called White on White. It's expensive but it works wonders - especially if you start out with a new coat like Pixi will have Can we have updates on how she grows back a nice thick warm fur?
  20. I bought some very expensive lotion for Muppet's coat for when he is shown that makes it straight, sleek, non greasy and smelling nice. It costs waaaay more than human stuff and I am considering using on my hair. Don't tell him Too right you should be grinning!! Any chance of finding a second hand peeler and chipper on ebay or something? My assistant is fluent in French - bung it my way and I'll see if he can help
  21. I'm just checking with our Essex co-ordinator. eta: she's already liaising with the dog warden
  22. Blimey it wasn't that warm over the weekend, was it?!
