  1. Aww that's lovely! (can you show them a picture of Muppet, please )
  2. Umm. I hate to break it to you but you can't buy a plot of land by buying a title over the internet. Methinks you just wasted £14.95...
  3. Oi I wanted him that weekend ! Instead can I have Poosa from 31st July to 3rd Aug? Just to make me happy though can I book Sirius to accompany Muppet to Crufts in 2010???
  4. Thank you. I put my sensible head on and made decisions today. I have asked an agency to find me some CVs in the preparation that none twonk does confirm he's definitely going, have asked new employee I employed for another job and another office for 3 days a week to cover twonk's position for the other 2 days he is available (as i think he can do twonk's 5 days in 2) and will now wait and see what happens. At least it means my clients will remain with a named qualified person and I can worry about a replacement for non twonk when and if i need to. For the sound advice I second that. Do what makes you happy. Sad RMF: The lovely stray, Belle, I rescued from a street corner a good few years back now and who eventually went to live with my mum succumbed to Cancer and hyperthyroidism today and was let to go peacefully over Rainbow Bridge. Bye bye Ellie-Belle we'll miss you RMF: I am cleaning. I don't know what I put on my floors before today but having put bleach on the bathroom and kitchen floors there are more fumes in here than I care to have. I have windows and doors open to try and remove said dizzying fumes
  5. That's what's annoying me. I spend all my time creating a good team and some other git comes and nabs them. I've pretty much decided today I'm not going to fight for my assistant. He has some faults that really I don't like and he doesn't seem to get rid of but otherwise he's very good indeed but I can't compete on money for him and he's running when business is tough, just like twonk has. I don't need that kind of staff - and if he goes as well as twonk I can afford a good qualified replacement plus a good quality graduate... which would work just fine. Now I'm not stressing about it I feel rather relieved, though the annoyance remains. I also have starting today a new property manager for a big site of ours so fingers crossed it's onwards and upwards. Julia that photograph needs putting on canvas and putting on your wall
  6. That's correct! I almost waved twonk out the door (after resisting saying asking how the hell he blagged his way to the job he's got but I didn't - i figured him leaving for Cambodia was a dream come true for us both)... and nearly begged my assistant to stay
  7. speaking from the boss point of view, i'd leave it too. I hate nothing more than matters I've considered dealt with dragged up again, it stresses me, takes up my time and I think can make matters worse... on the other hand I do also have to say that as a boss my time is limited and I can sometimes forget pleases and thank yous (though I try not to - i was the employee once too!) and if I get a hint of "it's not my job" (not saying you said that as it appears you haven't - but it might have come across that way to your control freak person) then I get very very annoyed indeed... I recognise more those who take something that isn't their job and do it well than those who just do what they're employed to do. I recognise it financially as well as with praise. Not sure that helps or just makes me sound like the boss from hell
  8. Rhubarb crumble only tastes delicious at Brownie Camp. It's the law to eat it at Brownie Camp. so sorry... what a lovely thought, lying in cabbage fields looking at stars, you must have some nice memories which will fade the heartache of the bad RMF: my twonk of a graduate has resigned. I am now in a state of panic and trying to convince myself that this is a fantastic opportunity to replace him. This theory would've worked if his meeting with me wasn't followed up with my assistant (and his colleague) informing me he'd been headhunted for £15K more than I pay him. I can't compete and I need him to stay. doesn't work ever get to be fun?
  9. Sarah are you on Facebook? One of my friends on there has FM and there are a few support groups on there that might help you Edited cos I is a numpty: I know you're on FB cos you're on my friends list. Look up my friend Lyn Conroy and add her - she'll be able to point you in the right direction - blame me (though she's just gone to bed, suffering from the effects of FM)
  10. Looking very disinterested: he got 3rd in puppy (which was the qualifier for Crufts - you need a first second or third to qualify) and reserve in Novice.
  11. Aw that's just adorable!
  12. dirtybird from hearing Jacob strumming when i've been on the phone i'm not surprised by what your friend says... sounds like he needs enrolling for a sponsorship at the local music college!!!
  13. oh. if they're not rescue i'd rather she doesn't have to pay someone for them...
  14. Ooooh i shall mention it... when are they available for rehoming?
  15. I think Mark & Sam might just *freak* at the thought of Sirius spending his life amongst all that alcohol and pickled eggs
  16. oh oh oh oh oh Gosh Sophie, what a very very brave young lady to take on such a responsibility, I am full of admiration for her We look forward to very very very regular upates on Prince Hugo's life ahead - may it be happy and long, for however long he has
  17. Coooool tattoos!! You were brave to have it on the wrist! Did it hurt (says she gingerly remembering she is still booked for a tattoo in about six weeks time )
  18. Alicia I don't remember where in the country you are but I know someone looking for a ginger tom - don't have one of those, do you?
  19. 25 years ago today, my bridge baby Tanzi was born the result of an accidental mating of a yorkie and a lhasa apso. She was the only puppy and was originally named Cuckoo as she wasn't meant to be in the "nest"!. Hope you're having fun at the bridge with Buster & Smirnoff, Tanzi Still miss you all these years on.
