  1. Kathy, where in the country are you?
  2. Provisionally reserved...pending further meetings.
  3. Cross posted to our forum, as I think we have a few Welsh members. Good Luck.
  4. Yogi arrived underweight and with poor muscle mass. On a suitable diet and with regular short walks both problems are resolving. He is large, strong, but quite the teddy bear. He is very gentle taking treats, and loves to be cuddled. He has been to the vets: castrated, microchipped and vax course started (will be completed before rehoming). He was very well behaved at the vets and travelled well in the car. He is a bit of a puller on lead, but has been taught nothing better. We are working on this and there are already signs of improvement. If you would like to know more about Yogi, please see Here
  5. At 14 months old, Morgan was a sad surrender due to the 'credit crunch'. He's a very compact but strong boy, who adores playing football. He will need ongoing reward based, positive training. He previously lived with a dog and children, but needs more socialisation with other dogs. He is very people-friendly. He is currently in one of our foster homes, and is meeting other dogs, and reacting well. Read more about Morgan Here
  6. Mona is a female bullmastiff cross, she is around 3 years old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. This gorgeous girl loves to play fetch and walks well on the lead, she has been tested on her recall which is pretty good but this will need to be worked on in her future training, she does like the look of small animals and will take chase if she gets the chance so her recall does need some improvement. Mona already knows sit, stay and down, she really listens to the person handling her and responds well on the lead, she has been on group walks and was very excited to see other dogs at first but once she has had a sniff and said hello she is fine and has shown no aggression whatsoever. Mona picks things up very easily, she loves to learn and training is one of her favourite things to do. She adores a cuddle and loves her belly being rubbed, she is a delight to have around and all she needs is a forever home of her own.
  7. 5 year old Bonnie has apparently spent most of her life in kennels, therefore she is finding the noises within the home a bit scary. She is in foster, and is learning to relax. Bonnie is very friendly when she gets to know you. We will not rehome her where there are children under 13, or where there are children visiting, because Bonnie is frightened of children. Ideally she needs a quiet home where there are not too many visitors. Bonnie gets on well with other dogs, does not bother the chickens, and tries to mother the cat! (The cat doesn't necessarily like this!!!) She is on a diet, her weight gain probably due to lack of exercise. See more of the lovely Bonnie

Someone I know from another forum had her Bullmastiff Tardak'ed. Says it made him terribly dog aggressive. She likened it to the poor dog suffering with 'PMT' as his hormones were haywire. It took her a long time and a lot of work to get him settled after, to be dog friendly again.
  9. Oh my goodness, I had no idea that this thread was here. Thankyou so much for posting it Chasta. And thankyou all for your good wishes. Losing Penny was a real shock. Almost a year on I still shed a tear when I think about her. But you're so right, her last day with us was a corker, and that makes me smile. May I share a pic? Here she is a few months before she died, sunning herself on our holiday in Portland.
  10. Chasta and I regularly walk our 7 dogs together, (Kenza, OB, Tili, Charlie, Montagu, Doli, Mr Pickwick) today my new rescue Rosie joined us (on long lead). They all took it in their stride.
  11. May I share this from LOLDOGS:
  12. I'm glad she's settled now. (sorry meant to text you) Wow! Look at those before and after pics! She really was a 'foxy lady' before. You wouldn't know it was the same dog.

    Holly's Home

Chasta told me she was safely back home.......good luck keeping her rested!!
  14. I'm going to pull Tobermory's Stratagem, therefore I am going to cross block your cheese card Abby, and say Rickmansworth! I think you'll find you're back to the nearest free base? Ongar I believe.
  15. Monty has had 2 TTO ops to repair damaged cruciates; Penny had one leg done. After the initial recovery (keeping them quiet!!!) they had no further trouble. Good luck Holly.
  16. Bless her l'il cotton socks. Frankly her family didn't deserve her, if they thought so little of her! Keep us updated with her antics.
  17. He's home and very dopey. He was under GA for an hour and a half, whilst his teeth were sorted, epulis removed, ears cleaned, eyes tested, all sorts of bits and bobs, so I'm sure he feels lousy at the mo. He's snuggled into a blanket, sleeping it off.
  18. I really really hope that the owner stays away a while longer, til Thursday at least!
  19. Thanks Chasta. He's been calling for his breakfast since 5am! He's not impressed with the hotel staff today!!! I dropped him off at 8.30. I'll call at 2pm and see if he can come home. (Now enjoying the peace after 3 hours of puggy howling!!)
  20. That must be awfully heavy!! Why don't you try those little plastic bags? Far more convenient!!
  21. You should have more sense than to chase crows at your age Holly. Hope it's nothing serious. Get well soon.
