  2. Well after a great start the Teddy pick a stick has failed miserably so back to the usual numbers folded up and chosen, sold out of those at last show.Another new thing I've been doing which has worked - 3 shows now - are "Mystery bags" picked up some paper take away bags from cash and carry and put a squeaky toy and samples/treats in,seal them and charge a £1.00 and also have 1 bag with a star on that wins a larger bag of dog food - because I've lots to give away before shows finish Sold out of these at every show - between 15-20.
  3. Oooh lucky you.I like just chewing it - delicious.
  4. I'm near Honiton the week after, maybe you can make that one

  6. well after getting a bit disheartened with previous stalls today was absolutely brilliant.Fantastic location right on the sea front, fine weather and lots of tourists around missing their dogs at home I took a brilliant £187.50 which I'm so pleased with.Wiped out of all the games almost and I'd taken extra as well. Was lovely to see Jeanne with Alfie, who was a little ummmm noisy but very sweet.I also had a helper from Terrier Talk and RHU,both of whom stayed for a couple of hours and with the numbers there I really did appreciate that assistance The gazebo gave up - leg snapped but I've just 2 shows left so not quite a disaster as I have an old fashioned pole style one I can use.Duncan and Trixie were as usual, show finished quite late so they didn't even get a run on the beach but I'm off tomorrow so will make it up to them. The usual photo of the stall
  7. thanks so much for the soft toys Jeanne - and delivering them personally as well.I really needed them after being cleaned out today
  8. That's so lovely. Not surprised there were a few tears shed, you have every right to be a proud Tigger and Daisy mum
  9. Yipee I'll be there - as my September shows are on Saturdays
  10. Hello Lynda I home visit for lots of rescues and there are many will rehome to working owners provided they are either able to go home at lunchtime or arrange for someone to come in and let the dog/s out - not necessarily for a walk, just as long as they get a toilet break and a bit of comapany.Obviously this won't suit all dogs but there are plenty who will be very happy with this arrangement, especially older dogs.I work and leave mine longer than most would find acceptable but do ensure they get long walks before I leave and soon as I get home.
  11. Oh he is adorable When uploading just click on the bottom link (IMG code) and paste directly onto page,no need to do anything else.
  12. Aww he's lovely as is Ruby of course who welcomes all these dogs into her home. Nice to see you back on board again as well Fancy heading up Weston on Sunday for RSPCA N Somerset Fun Dog Show, doing a stall for Oldies there.
  13. What a fab show this was, definitley more horse orientated but nevertheless a great show in a beautiful location.Didin't do as well as I hoped but did take £83.50 which I'm pleased about. Thanks so much to Bilred for coming along to assist, very grateful for your help,so nice to be able to wander around the stalls and enter Trixie in the rescued dogs parade (not to mention have a loo break ) Lots of interest in Oldies dogs and what we do,whether it comes to anything who knows but also met a few hitherto unknown to me rescues from the area and that's always useful to know, they didn't know about us either.
  14. Happy Gotcha Day sweetheart, may you share many more.He is a very handsome dog.

  16. This weekend, praying weather will be better than last weekends monsoon like conditions
  17. Owl have you also seen Ziggy the Yorkie is safe - found in the village Wispa tracked him to apparently. http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=31581&status=Reunited
  18. What a disaster this was Just got set up,first class had started and we had a monsoon break, was absolutely horrendous, lasted for several minutes as well.Sadly a lot of people left the show then,it did clear up for a while then down it came again, stopped for a while - long enough for the gazebo to dry out then we had the whole works, thunder lightning and another monsoon.Needless to say takings weren't anything to shout about - just £41.00.Almost didn't make it home as the roads were flooded in a couple of places rain was so heavy, then sun came out so was able to continue.Got home in sunshine, took 1 load into house leaving Duncan and Trixie in car then heavens opened again, decided to leave them there as didn't think anyone was going to steal them in that weather .Not a great day by any means.Hopefully will be better for next show. Stall pic
  19. :laugh:Yes hopefully I'll sell loads of stock/people will play games so I'll be much emptier going back but can always budge the dogs up and fit them in
  20. It's a bit far for me.Weston-Super-Mare show is closest to you and that's still some way.If you need to get rid of them try Freecycle, lots of rescues/charities look for them on there, thanks for offer though
  21. Oooh yes please but as you say how to get them here may be a problem.
  22. Do try Saunton sands,it just goes for miles and miles. There's a small section when you get onto beach where dogs have to be onlead but it really is a tiny section then you will have a fabulous sandy beach (with no mud ) to run along.
  23. What an amazing thing to do Somerset meadow
  24. Minehead is dog friendly from golf course on,it's only the area on front that isn't.Blue Anchor and Dunster beaches just a bit further on towards Taunton are both dog friendly,Dunster they can be off-lead below high tide mark only,Blue Anchor all the way. There's also a fab dog friendly Cafe at Blue Anchor - Driftwood Cafe, great food and free parking too,pay at Dunster Beach. You can walk from Minehead to here and catch the steam train back as well. Just seen you're in Dulverton (gorgeous isn't it ) Do try to visit Dunster village if coming to beach,it really is lovely. Kilve beach is also a good place to visit,if you park at East Quantoxhead church it's just 10p and you can walk along beach to Kilve then along clifftops as far as you like,Kilve is interesting for the strange rock formations. Head to North Devon too,Saunton Sands is an amazing dog friendly beach, car park fills pretty quick though so get there early, well worth the drive.
