  1. Thank you. My how he's grown since I last saw him as a teeny lad. Princess Tiff has similar colour and markings to my Dylan
  2. Hi Joan and welcome, now how's Charlie and Tiffy? For those not in the know Joan adopted Charlie originally an RDR pupster via Wiccaweys to keep the lovely Tiffany company.
  3. I would be inclined to take him back to the vet for your own peace of mind. My Scampi has spondylitis as well as arthritis in his hips sometimes getting up is a lot worse than others and this hot weather has only served to make things worse. He is precribed metacam which I don't really like using, but is the only thing that helps, I give it on a need to basis, which is usually for a couple of days and then stop for a while, this seems to suit him. My vet says also that either extreme cold or hot will affect the joints, which has proved to be the case. He has certainly lost his spring though but now the weather has cooled he does seem better.
  4. No more will I get mugged by Max, he had a massive heart attack at the veterinary hospital and passed away last night. Goodbye and sleep tight dear Max. You will be sorely missed.
  5. Well Max has been deteriorating and is now in the Vet Hospital near Chester. He couldn't walk into the reception area without collapsing. They are keeping him in tonight but according to the cardiologist he hasn't much time left even with treatment. Margaret and Tony are going there again tomorrow perhaps to say goodbye to the dear lad. So please keep them in your thoughts.

  7. So much sadness this week, Run free Donna. to you and Gary Claire.
  8. Free from confusion and heartache now sweet Merly boy. to you Claire, Gary, Sam and Mark for having the courage to end his sufferings and allow him to go peacefully to the bridge, the last final act of love you can perform for a dear, dear friend.
  9. Poor Max had some of his tests and it looks like heart and kidney failure. Because of his bad heart condition they wouldn't keep him under anaesthesia for more than a couple of minutes, so X ray of hips weren't done but they realise he has hip problems as well as a possible tumour in the oesophagus. He has to return to the vet again Thursday, in the meantime Mum and Dad are trying to keep him calm and quiet. Thank you for all your kind thoughts and good wishes they are much appreciated
  10. My neighbour has 2 lovely Labs, Ben 14 years old and Max 12. Ben is just an old man with no real health problems except the normal ones of old age, a little stiffness etc. Max bless him the younger of the two has had a cough for a week or so, treated for kennel cough with no improvement, he is also passing blood in his urine and getting very wobbly on his legs. Tomorrow he is going for investigations under GA. Obviously we are very worried non more so than his Mum and Dad and fear the worst. I have known both dogs since they were tiny poopies and love them both dearly. So please say a little prayer for Max and send good thoughts for tomorrow.
  11. Sleep tight Sammy free from the terrible affliction that ailed you. for everyone that loved you and will miss your smiley face.
  12. I did wonder why many cars had these attached. Love it.
  13. Ooops sorry the little tricoloured JRT is a bitch and the little Red Border Type is a dog. Hopefully I will have photo's tomorrow.
  14. Thank you will do.
  15. A couple of nights ago a little tricoloured Rough coated JRT age around 5+ and a little Red Border Terrier type around 2 years old were found on the A14 near Bedford. They are presently being cared for via a rescue in the area, if anyone thinks they have either lost or know someone who may have lost these two little sweeties please PM me and I will put them in touch with the rescue, who thinks they may have been either stolen and dumped or just dumped. No pics at present hopefully I will have tomorrow.
  16. Farewll bonny lad, run free from all worries and pain now.
  17. Several years ago my Scampi cut his pad on broken glass very badly, my vet wouldn't suture it as he said lacerations on the pads often broke down and wouldn't heal properly so prescribed Dermisol cream. See http://www.vet-medic.com/Product_Info.aspx?pCode=DERM5 Well the healing process was more or less miraculous, you could almost watch the granulation taking place. I would certainly reccomend it for deep cuts of this kind.

    Diabetic Dog

Once stabilised yes the insulin is usually given by the owner at home. My friend had a diabetic dog and gave insulin injections to her dog for over 5 years after checking her urine in a morning.
  20. Have crossposted this to a couple of canal sites, who knows someone may glean some info as they travel round on their boats. I do hope the lad can be found and returned safe and well.
  21. http://www.brentwoodfarmcottages.co.uk/cotts.html# When we booked they said only one dog usually, but accepted our 2 with no problems, even though as we were on the phone the postie came and two very noisy dogs could be heard barking after we had said how quiet and well behaved they were.
