  1. If he can't fix it presumably he doesn't know what's wrong with it, that being so how does he know it will make the unknown fault worse? Funny noises from a boiler you can't turn off doesn't sound healthy though, it's not boiling in the tank is it? I'd be inclined to turn it off at the fuse before the top blows off That depends how far out of warranty it is, anything you buy has to last a reasonable amount of time, the compressor went on our fridge after 15 months but we got it fixed FOC after quoting this all to the shop who tried to fob us off to the manufacturer. The contract is with the place you buy it from and mentioning you have a case open with consumer direct does seem to focus the mind. Allison has been trying that with me for 25 years, I think she's finally given up trying, sometimes it's just easier not to talk about it.
  2. All seem to offer return path infra red and have Scart in/outs to make connectivity straight forward, they'll be limited in range due to licencing and all will cause interference too and receive interference from wireless networks (and from microwave ovens). The only thing that may vary is the quality of picture but I doubt the difference is enough to warrant buying the £100 model. If it were me I'd go for the Tristar AV sender, it gets some good reports HERE I imagine the buzzing interference they mention is a local wireless router.
  3. Sam, could you set up an account with a local provider over there? Dialog Telekom do mobile broadband, I don't know what those prices are like but probably cheaper than T mobile roaming. The only problem I can see is that you will probably have to have a minimum contract although they are a Vodafone partner so if vodafone do PAYG dongles maybe a UK bought one would give cheaper roaming onto Dialog than T mobile, does that make sense? lol
  4. They'll be fine, it's only when bones are cooked do they become dangerous. Cooking leeches the fat out of them making them brittle.
  5. I reckon you've been hanging around construction sites too long Sam, sounds like a fine builders bum moment to me How can you 'forget' to put knickers on?
  6. This link http://www.rykat.org/forums/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=08 should take you straight there. Are Be U that bad, we 're currently with Sky but I was thinking of changing to Be once our year is up because the performance on sky is so mediocre.
  7. We get ours from a butcher at a farm shop, they are one of the few left around here that buy in sides of meat to prepare properly rather than buying in the cuts. All ours is free as it saves them paying to have it removed, they have to pay per bin weight. Some very good professional advice from the others already, if it were me I'd offer to make him a cup of tea in the next few days and gob in it when he wasn't looking
  8. So sorry to hear this after everything everyone has done looking for her Run free Lucy
  9. Seems that watching the Aurora is popular, I'd like to combine it with driving a Landrover around Iceland. Spend a month or two on a driving holiday around eastern Europe starting up in Estonia, through Belarus, Ukraine and ending up in Azerbaijan. Find some remote land in north Devon and build my own house, only a small one but in the middle of a big field and have no annoying neighbours. Something simple like having enough money so we don't have to worry about paying bills and still have enough to do enjoyable things. Ride a horse, I've not even admitted this one to Allison
  10. We give ours anything we can from our butcher so chicken carcasses, turkey necks, lamb ribs, beef offcuts, pigs trotters and offal, basically anything he has in the bin. They also get pasta and the occasional mackeral (liquidised as they won't eat them whole) and any dinner left overs apart from cooked bones, for treats we bake pigs ears, on one occasion they even demolished most of a pigs head after we removed the ears for baking. The only thing we are careful with are the large marrow bones, the leg of a cow is VERY hard and Bob has broken a couple of teeth on them. As for how much, somewhere between 1 and 2% of their weight. Bob is currently 25kg and he gets 330g per day in one evening meal, Meg has about 150g dry in the morning and 150g raw in the evening, if she is fed all dry her poos are too big and we can hear her straining and groaning from the garden but the mix keeps her balanced OK
  11. This used to apply to Ni-cad rechargeables, if you repeatedly charged them before they were fully drained they would get a false 'memory' and appear dead even though they had plenty of life in them. The newer types of battery, NiMH, lithium Ion and polymer etc don't suffer this problem so are OK to trickle charge. It does sound as if the battery is knack'd, probably one of the cells has gone short circuit. Sounds like it's time for a new one but a quick Google shows there are plenty of (cheaper) places to get them from instead of the manufacturer.
  12. We went for a walk across the fields by the river this afternoon, twas very warm and very peaceful and I may have dozed off laying in the long grass During said walk I came across a mutant mushroom, I'm thinking this could look good with a few sausages and eggs on a plate, a very large plate
  13. Having written to Pedigree foods to inform them I will no longer be buying their products due to their continued sponsorship of Crufts I've just had a reply, no surprise in the corporate response but I'll follow it up with a few examples of the health and welfare they wish to maintain. Paul -- Dear Paul, Thank you for contacting Pedigree. At PEDIGREE everything we do is for the love of dogs. We constantly work with breeders, owners and industry bodies to continually promote responsible dog ownership and breeding. As a company dedicated to dogs, we would like to see all dogs in good health and enjoying life to the full. We currently have no plans to withdraw our sponsorship of Crufts. We will support all parties to ensure that breeders and show organisers maintain pet health and welfare as their primary concern. If you need any further information or advice please contact our Consumer Careline on the telephone number below and one of our Consumer Care Advisors will be more than happy to help you. Kind regards. Gail Jones Consumer Care Team
  14. I went out to a 'do' last night, the first time I've been out for a social gathering for over two years To celebrate this momentous occasion I had a couple of pints of Carling, the first alcohol I've had in four years, this morning my head feels mainly like this and this Been out with the dogs along the beach already which seems to have cleared it somewhat but it could be another four years before I attempt drinking again. I managed to get infected by the analitic-checks.google.com trojan last week, try Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, I think it's new but it removed my trojan very easily and it's getting loads of good reviews.
  15. We wanted to then Allison went and booked a week away in the sun and won't be back till Sunday evening I know a few of my customers who compete in agility are going as I delivered their passes this week If the weather holds it's going to be brill, hope everyone has a great time.
  16. The idea of free feeding our two is funny, the thought of free feeding any ex racing trailhound makes me smile, neither hound or owner would have the willpower to see it through Been a shite day here, I got home from work to find carnage in the chook run, a fox paid us a visit this morning We only lost one of the girls but it was Clucky, our remaining ex battery rescue and mum to the two Light Sussex, I guess she died defending the others as they were inside the chicken house and didn't come back out till after lunchtime. They can have the run of the garden tomorrow along with the dogs while I'm at work and then we'll see about making their run more secure as I'm worried Mr Fox will now know he has a supply of food during the day. This is Clucky with Kiev a day after hatching.
  17. AFAIK It uses the red cross because it was founded by Henry Dunant who was Swiss and it is just a reversal of their national flag.
  18. I hope it hasn't been glued together when it was built, a lot of the preassembled ones are. Tis the work of the devil I tell ya. Good to see Gordon is doing something for everyone struggling to pay their fuel bills. We've already got a new condensing boiler, loft insulation, wall insulation and new double glazing so what exactly is he doing to help us, ah of course, nothing at all, we've both got jobs. The cost of gas is linked to the price of crude which of course has dropped 30% in the last couple of months, anyone surprised that gas prices haven't fallen as well?
  19. Spent most of the day removing a trojan from this PC that had hijacked me web browsing, finally removed it about an hour ago and Allison rang to say she'd arrived at the hotel in Kefalonia, the balcony looks over the pool and it's 30C so she's off for a beer, thanks wife
  20. Due to my sheer laziness (I couldn't be bothered getting up to get the remote) we ended up watching the equally naff Volcano film on Ch4. It was all too much for Meg
  21. The fourth rail is (I think) used instead of the running rails to prevent electrolytic damage and arcing on any nearby metal or poor joints but why is at -210v and not a single phase supply of +630v and fourth rail at 0v?

    Sad Topic

I hope Moo pulls through this OK and you don't need this Fee but if you can't find anyone close in Kent then Raystede in Ringmer, East Sussex offer individual cremations, it's about 30 mins from Tunbridge Wells down the A26. You just have to fill a form in, they give you a key to the Chapel of rest where you can say goodbye and you don't have to go back again. It's not easy I know but it is peaceful and very private
  23. I've just googled the Brazillian Wandering Spider, it appears it's a walking Viagra pill
