    Hello

Thanks everyone for the nice welcome. Photos will follow. My camera is away at the doctor's just now. Will put on some older ones from photobucket when I get a chance.
  2. Here's a couple I use for my dog sympathy cards: "God promised at the birth of time, A special friend to give, His time on earth is short, he said, So love him while he lives. It may be six or seven years Or twelve or then sixteen. But will you, till I call him back, Take care of him for me? A wagging tail and cold wet nose And silken velvet ears, A heart as big as all outdoors, To love you through the years. His puppy ways will gladden you And antics bring a smile, As guardian or friend, he will Be loyal all the while. He'll bring his charms to grace your life And though his stay be brief, When he's gone the memories Are solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay Since all from earth return, But lessons only a dog can teach I want you each to learn. Follow his lead and gain a life Brim full of simple pleasure, Whatever love you give to him, Returns in triple measure. Enjoy each day as it comes, Allow your heart to guide, Be loyal and steadfast in love As the dog-child at your side. Now will you give him all your love, Nor think the labor vain, Nor hate me when I come to call To take him back again. I fancy each of us would say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done, For all the joy this dog shall bring, The risk of grief we'll run. "We'll shelter him with tenderness, We'll love him while we may, And for the happiness we've known, Forever grateful stay. "But shall the angels call for him Much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, And try to understand." ----------------------------- "May I go now? Do you think the time is right? May I say goodbye to pain filled days and endless lonely nights? I've lived my life and done my best, an example tried to be. So can I take that step beyond and set my spirit free? I didn't want to go at first, I fought with all my might. But something seems to draw me now to a warm and loving light. I want to go. I really do. It's difficult to stay. But I will try as best I can to live just one more day. To give you time to care for me and share your love and fears. I know you're sad and afraid, because I see your tears. I'll not be far, I promise that, and hope you'll always know that my spirit will be close to you wherever you may go. Thank you so for loving me. You know I love you, too. That's why it's hard to say goodbye and end this life with you. So hold me now just one more time and let me hear you say, because you care so much for me, you'll let me go today." Dedicated to everyone who has ever had to put down a beloved dog. I do have another one but will have to look it out and type it up.
  3. I have just changed two of mine to Halifax (in December) and my third one will be changed next month on renewal. I am saving £180 per year for the three of them and getting the same cover. I have a £50 excess and have just had to claim for one already since she sliced her foot on New Years Day and have had no problems with them, even when I had to call them after initial claim to say that another infection had set in and would need to claim more. They told me just to fill out another form circling that it was a continuation claim and I will have no more excess to pay. I am certainly happy with them.
  4. Hi, I am from Perth, Scotland and I have 3 staffordshire bull terriers, Freya and her two boys Polar and Rudy. I am married with two children, a girl, Kendal (6) and a boy, Liam (8). We also own a pony, hamster and a guinea pig. I look forward to getting to know folks on this forum.
  5. I am new to this forum but was following this poor dogs story on another forum where it had been crossposted. I am glad to hear that she is starting to get better after the awful things she has been through. My thoughts and prayers are with her. I rescued a bait dog almost 18 years ago who was also in a horrendous condition and the vet gave her 12 hours to live. After a lot of work and tlc she became one of the best dogs I have ever owned, very friendly and loving towards people, dogs and in fact all animals (even wee furries). We had her 11 years before having to put her to sleep due to cancer. I hope that Bernie is as lucky and gives someone as much love as Tess gave to us. I hope that this story shows people that these poor dogs can recover and make excellent pets. I will send a donation next week towards her fund. Well done on your excellent work in rescuing this dog and please take care when dealing with these monsters.
