  1. I'm more worried about the cold showers
  2. Well done Jayne Feckin' great - my heating has gone on the blink I've had the heating on all afternoon but when I felt the radiators they were cold. Had a shower and don't think the hot water is coming on either (I've still got the old fashioned system with an immersion heater).
  3. I might just buy him some vouchers and let him get something he wants, cos he's a cantankerous old git Am going to wait until Black Friday for my camera, hopefully get some dosh off. It's 25th November. Moaning Chucking it down here.
  4. Ooo, just bought another (early) christmas pressie. This one is for the hedgehog wot lives in next door's garden. Neighbour has made a walkway for him under the fence, so if he wants to come and have a snuggly place to hibernate, he can.
  5. Hope you feel better soon griff Work's still manically busy, but bonus gets paid this month so I'm coping. Just did my Christmas shopping which consisted of buying toys for my cousin's kids on a New Zealand website. Don't buy for anyone else (apart from the odd secret santa at work). Can't think what to get my father cos he's got everything he wants and he won't be here anyway, he's off to South Africa next weekend for three months. Oh I forgot, I haven't bought myself anything yet - am going to treat myself to a new Panasonic Lumix camera. Last one has stopped working. Could have it fixed I suppose but the one I've got my eye on has 4K video recording.
  6. So Clinton won the popular vote, but because the popular vote doesn't actually decide who's president, the orange one gets to be pres The last time that happened they got George W Bush who must have been the most stupid president of all time. Wondering whether it is significant that today is 9/11 (obvs the British way round but still)? Forgot to say, apparently Trump's celebration party had a cash bar, so he didn't even lay on drinks the tightwad.
  7. I also fear that his rhetoric on hispanics, muslims, etc will be seen as open season by some.
  8. Moaning Looks like orange face has won. What an absolute tragedy for the US and the world The US will be a laughing stock with that vile man as president. He's like a cross between the BNP and the Monster Raving Loonies.
  9. Moaning What have I missed? Timmy used to be terrified of fireworks, but is taking it all in his stride this year. He even went out for wees before bedtime whilst lots of fireworks were going off. Not sure if he's going deaf or he's just not bothered.
  10. Afternoon all. Met my dad for coffee this morning. It was a bit strange but not awkward so am going to meet up with him again soon. I just wish I hadn't left it as long because he's so old now (80 today) and we've missed out on 11 years. He's a cantankerous old git but at the end of the day he's my dad and he's not going to be around forever. I've got a new bookcase being delivered between 1 and 4 today. What's the betting it will be 4.05 when it arrives? I've been cleaning the kitchen/hall/stairs/landing. Flies are really irritating me in the kitchen. I have no idea where they are coming from but I'll go and check behind the blinds and there will be one or two or sometimes up to five very docile flies. Last time it happened, turned out that Garfy cat had killed a starling and hidden it, little get. I've searched all the nooks and crannies in the kitchen just in case Gorgeous George brought something in and can't find anything. It's been off and on or a couple of weeks now and it's driving me nuts! I did wonder whether they could be flying in through the cat flap because there is no flap on it (darling cats won't use it otherwise). Any ideas?
  11. Afternoon. I'm not really here I'm working from home
  12. Went to the docs this week and I've got high blood pressure. I've got to get a monitor and take some readings so they can take an average. I'm determined not to take drugs for it so have had 40 mins fast walking during our walking. Feel better for it. Busy day today - need to go to Costco and B&Q at 11. Wish they opened early doors on a Sunday but I suppose the staff have to have a lie in once a week at least. Need to clean the patio doors/windows as they are covered in dirty water splatter where the dogs run in and out. Little boogers
  13. Moaning Sleep tight Butter Positive thoughts for Ted Good boy Jasper
  14. 'Ello Not been on for a bit so apologies if I've missed anything vital.
  15. Suzeanna we need lots and lots of pics And from you Yantan of your builder's pup jazz I hope you feel much better soon New Wifi dongle has arrived (laptop's internal one is carp and the other dongle I had stopped working). I now have 24Mbps rather than the 1.4Mbps I was getting. Just in time for watching the champions league game on the laptop tonight
  16. I've ordered a chinese. I'm drinking wine. On a school night. I don't feckin care.
  17. I've finally reached the end of my tether with work. It's been coming for a while but I can't go on like this so am going to look elsewhere. Or maybe just give up on life. That's the way I feel at the moment.
  18. The beauty of Google, I have found the running club's website and then his name and even his place of work. Quite scary really.
  19. Well done snow Just got back from our walk and am shaking. One of our dog walking friends was just behind us coming off the field and I heard shouting. Apparently a bloke kicked his dog This bloke comes on with the junior runners so assume he's a coach (he wears a tshirt with the name of the club on the back). He's always on there and comes across as obnoxious. Craig's dog Jade is a soppy loopy young boxer. She's not got an aggressive bone in her body. When Craig shouted at him, the bloke said that she was attacking people, which is absolute rubbish. He has his own dog with him sometimes. If that's the kind of thing he does to a stranger's dog I feel sorry for his own dog. Can't stand bullies. Don't suppose there is anything the police can do? Not sure if Craig would report him this time anyway but worth knowing in case he does it again.
  20. Ruddy hell I'm surprised you even honour us with your presence, ma'am BTW I certainly won't be feckin bowing cos this is the view you'd get
  21. Moaning Griff The only thing I know about my family tree is that my father's ancestor came from France in 1066, hence my surname.
