  1. A dislocated jaw looks like you have your mouth wide open and can't move, so i would think it is back in place and the problem you are having is due to it being over stretched and causing stiffness and pain. A quick visit to your gp would be best, you may need some nsaid's. if it had been your shoulder it would have been strapped up, but you can't do that with your mandible and have no option of keeping it immobile unfortunately
  2. Awwwww they all look so happy
  3. I will be at the Pets At Home for a meet and greet (G4U) tomorrow (15th) from 11 am. I have Duke on the chicken dinner and will bring you a sample if you can collect it from there, but it depends on if you think its worth the journey- unless you know someone near you who is going to it and can collect it for you Duke really enjoys it- sort of smells like the old mixer you used to get many years ago. It is odd sized so seems good for the teeth and it doesn't swell up at all, It would just soften and then go soggy if you soaked it so i would say it's probably good for dogs prone to bloat It doesnt suit Dudley and makes Rio slaver and her feet itch so they dont have it. That said, 99% of food makes Rio like that or worse so dont take that as the food being no good. Duke is fit and healthy on it and his coat is glossy I did read a review that said it smelt just like a chicken dinner, but it just smells like dog biscuits to me Let me know if you want me to take some with me so you can try it
  4. I 'think' they are the same company- as in was laughing dog and is now fold hill. Are you anywhere near greyhound retail park in cheshire?
  5. Happiness is....... Finding a new family to love you and, getting new collars in the post
  6. Sensative foods are not good for dogs who are very sensative- the burgess sensative makes my Rio ill and allergic, and the skinners made her throw up severely after only trying 1 feed on it, so in my opinion of trying lots of foods for sensative dogs- just go for a food that has no chemical/artificial agents to it- Berrimans is superb for Rio, she is fit healthy and allergy free on it, but it isn't a 'sensative' food
  7. I ordered a load of nature diet from Berriewoods- seems to be the cheapest i could find and were very fast with delivery. They do lots of other stuff too so defo worth a look http://www.berriewoodwholesale.co.uk/pages...-foods-1195.htm
  8. If it's before getting a new dog, then the only criteria is to be sociable with other dogs. Once it arrives it's a case of see what it's like in different circumstances and the rules are then made according to that dog- things like will it eat alone or alongside the others, can it eat a chew around the others or need seperating ect The rules in my house for my 3 are 1, no left overs to be given at all 2, no going upstairs 3, no getting on couch without permission Everything else is a case of tailoring to the dogs current behaviour i suppose. dont know if thats any use at all
  9. for you at such an upsetting time I have mine pts at the vets (about £40) and then take them to leyland pet crematorium in the car, they meet me at the car with a gurney and will if required place the pet in a chapel of rest in a casket for you to spend some time with them (i choose not to do this) the pet is then taken through to be individually cremated and the ashes are returned either in a cardboard casket or a wooden one which they have a nice choice (i get mine back in the cardboard one as my dad makes my dog caskets for me) I usually pay £69 for an individual cremation and they provide a superb service. They have been very acommodating with me as the 3 i have had done were at the last minute, 2 were done in a morning and i could take them within an hour and the last one was pts in an evening so we brought her home and then phoned the crem in the morning- I would never leave a beloved pet at the vets to be collected- i like to be with them every step of the final journey and to ensure they get the individual cremation. I cant praise leyland pet crematorium enough, they have always been wonderful with me
  10. Today i was doing all the phoneing/coordinating so stayed at home as they were going to bring Amy to my house if they caught her, but the wonderful dog warden (Shelley) ended up on her own with Amy and was running out of food so i took more food up and stayed with them till the owners were near and then went to meet them at the motorway to show them where she was and the rest is happy history. Shelley and i both got a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine each for our efforts x
  11. WOOHOOOOOO yes she is safe and sound on her way home She was limping on her front leg and has a sore eye, she was extremly tired and very scared but all that melted away when she caught sight of her daddy- it made me shed a few joyful tears. All in all it was a day well spent and i am really happy that it has ended so well for Amy and her family. Massive thanks to everyone who helped
  12. Just had a call- the warden has spotted her and is getting reasonably close to her and the family are en route to help catch her- fingers crossed it is the right dog but if not hopefully someone else will be getting reunited soon. xx
  13. Thank you so much I got the street name wrong, the sighting was on Gough lane
  14. There has been a possible sighting of Amy on Goth Lane, Clayton Brook this morning, but the dog has run off again
  15. I have passed on the number for dogs lost to the owners. They are also contacting the local radio stations and newspapers.
  16. Thats great thank you I have emailed the rspca center at preston and left a message on a number provided by chorley borough for the kennels but i dont know where else to try. let me know if you need my contact numbers. I am in chorley
  17. Yes but i didnt know the number and they dont have email so i said i would do what i could, i gave him my details to pass on to the police ect and i will be trying to contact the dog warden but anyone who could contact anywhere else i would be really grateful.
  18. This morning on the M6 around J29/ Walton Le Dale area. The dog ran off after an accident on the motorway possibly heading in the direction of Leyland in Lancashire Black Lab bitch. 4 1/2 yrs old. Microchipped. No collar. Her name is Amy and she is a fully trained gundog. Her owner is understandably devastated- There were 3 dogs- one is safe and the other unfortunately died at the scene. The owner has my details, and i have said the dog can come to me if found- the family live in Derbyshire. Please pm me with any info or email me at [email protected] Please cross post Thank you
  19. I would suggest getting one of those eye cover thingies to prevent any light disturbing you and get some ear plugs- i'm sure your oh is old enough to make sure he gets out of bed on time so i would concentrate on blocking out the things that disturb you- and stick to your normal routine. Also you could get your oh to put all his clothes ect that he needs for the morning outside of the bedroom so he just has to get up and leave the room as quietly as possible to minimise the disturbance failing that i would go with the seperate rooms idea if you have one
  20. My dad fitted secondary double glazing about 30 years ago and i can definately say its better than anything you can get these days and it is still in perfect condition normal dg is just 2 lots of glass but most draughts come from the frame so you still get noise and draughts. the secondary dg is channeled plastic fitted to the frame and the extra glazing sits in the channels and has draught excluder fitted round the edges- the result is super warm and no noise and you will never end up with awful condensation building up between the panes like you do with the dg units
  21. Fantastic news, congratulations to everyone involved
