Owner Calls For Greyhounds To Be Muzzled
lazyhound replied to kola's topic in Breed Specific Legislation
When will people stop generalising and labelling dogs! Any dog which is aggressive and likely to attack should be kept on a lead or muzzled no matter what breed it is - it's about responsible ownership. I feel sorry for Janet Essex and Simba and clearly the dog which attacked Simber should have been muzzled. I have 2 greyhounds, one of which is muzzled off lead and one which isn't. As for labelling greyhounds as dangerous ... I don't think so - and they certainly don't all need to be muzzled! -
Flippen 'eck, I believed this at first and could feel my blood starting to boil

Poor Axle and poor you. I had exactly the same problem with Oscar my first greyhound. We tried desperately to save his tail. First the vet just removed the tip and then a little more - unfortunately both times the tail did not heal and it started to die off. Eventually we agreed to have his tail amputated and it healed very quickly after that. I don't think he was in pain as he seemed pretty much oblivious throughout the ordeal, but he was definately fed up with collars and muzzles. Good luck.

I switched from Burns to CSJ and my Dougie has done really well on it. He is a fussy eater and this is one of the very few complete foods he actually enjoys.

Kelly, I don't think there is a right or wrong way to feel - we are all different and it is so hard when you lose a loved one. Life is full of "ifs and buts", however I can tell you whole heartedly that the decision you made was the kindest and the right one, and because you loved Reggie enough to let him go he didn't suffer.
