  1. Thanks for all your well wishes you are all great Feeling a bit confused after talk with vet! Started off well i.e. tests all came back clear i.e. all her vital organs are working absolutely normally However, they are going to have her in for the day on 19th to do a test for Cushings?? Have been on the internet, which I probably shouldn't have done but apart from the piddling sympton she doesn't seem to have any of the others? She is definitely not lerthargic, or have hair loss, skin conditions, etc., and is currently playing racey chasey with Ed! Will carry on as normal until the 19th and then start round two of worries
  2. Loads of positive thoughts being sent for the gorgeous Timmy
  3. Morning all - just back from walk (an hour earlier than usual!) - didn#t sleep that well but after a nice crisp walk am feeling a bit more positive
  4. Thanks for all your good wishes from someone who probably wont just lurk anymore and you will soon get fed up of me I usually am on early in the morning and often see Wendbert who is off to or back from work and will now say "Hi"
  5. I am also a lurker but would love it if you could muster some good thoughts for my Polly Collie who has been to the vets tonight after starting to piddle a lot in her sleep. I went just hoping it was an infection but they said her urine was very diluted and so she was led away for blood tests They have said it may indicate a problem with her kidneys and also mention the "D" word, which is my worst nightmare, as I lost Alfie 2 years ago to Diabeties and could not go through that again I have to wait for a phone call tomorrow evening
  6. When I asked the assistant today, she said it was on until Xmas Eve if they have anything left! I got a couple of kiddy ps2 games for £7 each i.e. a couple of sonic games. If anybody is after a footspa, I know they were marked up at £10 today but may have been even cheaper at the till
  7. Had extended lunch break Got loads of stuff! At one point at the counter with my numerous purchases, I handed over a hair-dryer with accessories in a nice case, which had been reduced down to half price i.e. £15, got to the counter and it was £6 ... the cashier asked me to go and fetch her one!!! Thought one of the best buys was all the family xmas and personal cards, all half price Luckily the Council site office was right near to ours, so I managed to sneak in there!
  8. My two bestest friends are both called Jo! The first one is my best mate since we were at school (a long time ago!) and we had ponies together. We would ring daily and meet up at least once a week until 6 years ago when she moved to Portugal! We now speak weekly and we visit each other with our families quite a few times a year and to be honest we are still as close as ever. Second Jo, I met in the pub over the road when she was a bar-maid there 6 years ago and now has her own pub around the corner. We speak at least once a day, I got her hooked on dogs and she now has her second rescue dog and we regularly go on the pop together Both our families went to Florida together earlier in the year and I know I could ring her at anytime if I was in trouble and she would come out to me!! Both Jo's are my son's god mothers and I luvs them both My other good mate is a girl I met on one of the dog forums and we get on absolutely fabulously although she lives in Cambridge and I am in the West Midlands and it was great to meet her when she came and stopped for the weekend with us. All my mates really liked her and I think we showed her a good time, well she did have a bad head the first morning after the night before!!
  9. Watch out NHS ... Jan is coming After much soul searching and discussion, there really is no competition ... just need the unconditional letter offer now!!!
  10. I have just been speaking with a friend and her mother has worked for the NHS for 40 years and she says I would be a fool not to go with the NHS with regards to the perks and security etc., in this current economic climate. Think I am now leaning more towards the NHS .. thanks for your input
  11. Well as you are aware, I have been offered a job within the NHS. CRB check came back last Friday and I also passed my medical, so am just awaiting the "Unconditional" offer through the post ... so all well and good there. Then .. This morning had a phone call from my Agency. Before coming temping to the Council, I temped for 2 weeks for an Engineering Company based in a portakabin on a Farm, which was heaven, surrounded by cats, horses, dogs, etc., and I absolutely loved it. 5 mins from home, no traffic hassle, no parking to consider, I just really loved the people and the job. Problem ... the young girl working with them discovered she was pregnant and has now decided she will not be coming back because they cannot agree conditions. The lady who owns the engineering company wants me to go and join them and has offered to match whatever the NHS is paying me. So, do I go with the NHS, which would probably be "safer" and better prospects etc., although traffic, hassle and parking problems and "suited" each day or do I go with the farm, jeans, probably not so safe, close to home etc., and fits in better i.e. could drop Harry off at school and still get to work for 9am? As soon as I get the NHS offer, I have to ring my Agency and let them know the actual terms of the post etc. Sorry but just needed to ask what people think? I know it is ultimately my decision but any ideas wise ones? Jan x
  12. Eddie & Harry thank you for your comments .. they are now both in bed watching Scooby Doo because it is both their favourite
  13. but it's when you go out to work that all the fun begins I bet
  14. Not a lot of tidying but Harry said it was Eddie's fault
  15. It was a sad day on Friday 3rd October 2006 when I lost my soul dog Alfie but then on the 11th November 2006 we drove up to Lincolnshire and came home with this ... The "hooligan" I fell in love with on DP!! We have come a long way with Eddie over the past 2 years and have overcome most of his "dog aggression" issues. He gets on famously with Polly Collie and did so since day 1 ... He loves our 7 year old son Harrison .. The dog we thought we would never be able to let off lead and in fact has turned out to be the best "off-lead" dog we have ever lived with because if one of his "hate" dogs does appear, he always choses us over one of them!! But most of all, we all love him Happy Gotcha Day Gorgeous ..
  16. Tis proper big flakes settling type of snow
  17. Am I seeing things because there is definitely snow falling out of the sky at work ... in Walsall and I have definitely not been to the pub during lunch-break
  18. Thank you for all your good wishes Anyone know how long an average CRB thingy takes?? They have now received my 2 references but I have to wait for this CRB to come back My current "Temp" boss gave me a copy of the questions he had to answer together with his replies, which were all far too complimentary! I liked his final comment in "Additional Comments", which he finished off with "Your gain is my loss, be good to Jan"!!!
