  1. She has a really thick long coat and gets hot in the summer and I started clipping her 2 yrs ago just for the summer. I had just clipped her before the pic was taken and did her quite short so the ears are more noticeable!! I do leave her eyebrows and whiskers on!! I think she looks like 'stripe' in Gremlins if you have seen it you will know what I mean!! She is just as mischevious too!! She had a bath and then decided to go itch all over the lawn on her back, she is hilarious!! What a shame I don't live nearer, I could get the clippers out and save you the hairdressers bill!!!
  2. Here are my babies (and very many thanks to Angie for posting them on here -( after an hour of trying to work out how to post 4 on at once I gave up!!) Mitzi goes scatty after she has been clipped, she runs around the garden like she is about a year old (she is now about 8 yrs old) and she is a fly/bee catcher, she is going to get stung one day!! Dear old Baxter as some know, came from Rochdale via LRRSE after being dumped, neglected, thin and deaf wandering the streets, he is just so laid back, well he has to be with mad Mitzi as his companion!!! Hope kids like the pics, lots of hugs and kisses from Mitzi xxxxx (and Pat and Baxter)
  3. Hi Kelly, what a tribe you have got, lovely photo. Yes I will try and get some pics down, perhaps a before and after the clip!! She really is a little raggamuffin!! She sits on the counter at the local farm shop where I get the horse feed from, she gets hand fed biccies and made of fuss of. They have a pic on the board of her in her little red/black coat and they are convinced she is like Gnasher, dennis the Menace's dog!! She really ought to have a tiara, she is so spoilt, all mouth and trousers. When I have boarding dogs staying she lets then know she is the boss!! I will give her a big kiss and cuddle from you and the kids. I am just starting my raffle for Aug. to raise a few pounds for RDR and the OC. Like to keep my hand in with the fund raising. Will post pics next week - got to get daughter to take them and get them on computer!! best wishes, Pat and Mitzi xx
  4. Hi Kelly, lovely to hear from you and all your news and glad to hear you now have happiness in your life. Photos are great. I still have little Mitzi the Irisih poundie that you fostered. She arrived in May 2005 ,she is still doing well, a little bit greyer, but still as noisey and all mouth and trousers!! Sorts all other dogs and keeps the horses in their place (I am sure she is convineced they are just big dogs with strange feet)!! I clip her in the warmer weather and she thinks she's the bees knees after, all spruced up. She certainly doesn't have that sad little face that was on the OC website now. She is a character and wouldn't be without her. I lost my old Max the lab x aged almost 17 just over a year, on his departing another arrived - Baxter a choccy lab from RDR via LRRSE, a neglected old boy who has been with me for just over a year, he is old and pottery but loves having a potter about the stable yard and having a lay down in the sun for a snooze. He's just being spoilt rotten and loving every minute of it. He is a lovley old gent and didn't deserve the fate he was left to, being deaf, in a thin neglected state, to wander the streets of Rochdale. Hope all goes well with you and your soon to be new arrival, enjoy the dogs, the children and happiness, Best regards, Pat, Baxter and Mitzi xxx
  5. Hi Everyone, just thought I better update you on Zeena. Stuart and his mum travelled to Wales last Sat. 8th Dec in all that horrendous weather we had. He found the place half way up a mountain, the road was almost washed away in places. They collected Zeena but didn't have too much time for introductions due to the weather. They broke the journey half way and Stuart took Zeena for a short walk, they got on fine. However on arrival at home, it was obvious Zeena was very wary of his mum. As she had a hip op recently she still uses her stick for support. She growled at Stuarts mum and is was evident she didn't want her to come too close. This makes me think there was something in her history, perhaps she had been beaten with a stick by a woman, who knows. They have been very patient all week, Stuarts mum is the only one to feed her and give her treats, and Zeena has been allowed to have 'her space' and I am very pleased to say things have settled down. They are 'bonding', she is great with Stuart, gives him a lovely welcome when he comes home. I have not been up to see her yet but will probably go up next week. I think they needed the time to get to know Zeena, and Zeena get to know her new owners. Will keep you posted after my visit. Best wishes Pat Kelly.
  6. Yes, will let you know how things go and get some photos, not sure how to post them but will have a go!!! They are so excited about going to collect Zeena tomorrow. I am going up to meet her in a few days to give her time to settle in and get to know Stuart and his mum. Regards, Pat.
  7. Hi everyone, I would just like to let everyone know that Zeena is being collected from the pound on Tuesday and is coming to live in Oxfordshire. I did the homecheck for Wendy this afternoon, I wouldn't mind moving in as well!! Zeena will have the run of the house,(3 bed semi) a duvet upstairs and a downstairs fluffy bed. Nice secure garden, 2 walks a day and company all the time apart from the odd shopping trip!! Can't be bad. Stuart lives at home with him mum who is about 64 and lost her other dog about 10 months ago, aged 14, so she is used to oldies. Stuart works during the day so his mum is looking forward to the company. Zeena will be spoilt rotten (which is what she deserves after her ordeal). I am going to see her after a week to check she has settled in. They are both going to the pound to pick her up and I think a pub lunch is planned en route!! They are both excited about collecting her. Zeena will think she's gone to heaven!! Also just to let you know that Mitzi (the OC dog I rehomed a couple of years ago) is still wearing the trousers in this household!!!. Also Baxter (old choc lab from Rochdale dog rescue) been with me 6 months now is still doing fine, a bit pottery and on metacam, he's my big brown bear!! Wishing everyone a merry Christmas - Zeena will be having a very merry Christmas!!! Will let you know how she settles in. Regards, Pat, Baxter and Mitzi.
  8. I am just waiting to win the lottery and I'd have the lot!!! Didn't anyone fall in love with our little Mitzi also known as Her Royal Highness!!! You should have seen her bossing the two 15hh cobs and a shetland x tonight!!!! Wouldn't part with her for the world, but I do feel drawn to little Pippa aged 13 looking for a home........just got to get that farm with 50 acres!!! Regards, Pat,Baxter and Mitzi xxx
  9. Thanks Fee, some leaflets will be great and would love to meet up if you can make it. We can have a chat nearer the time. Wouldn't have a clue about posting pics!! far too technical for an old dinosaur like me!!! regards, Pat and Mitzi.
  10. Hi everyone, I am new on this site but I adopted little Mitzi from the OC about 2 years ago - she's the little black terrier that came across from Ireland. She is doing well, still the boss with the other dogs!! She had her vaccs yesterday and my vet asked if I would like a table at the summer fete. I run a small raffle summer and Xmas to raise money for the OC. The fete is going to be held on 15th July. I would love to do it and wondered if there are any OC people that live near Witney, Oxfordshire who could help me. I can sell some of my summer raffle tickets there and perhaps recruit a few fosterers hopefully. I would also be grateful if someone could send me some leaflets etc about the OC to give out on the day. Please let me know if anyone can help. Regards to everyone, you all do such a great job for these old dogs.
