Not silly in the slightest I find great pleasure in feeding the birds in my garden and spend ages watching them. The cheeky sparrow family are out there at the moment I've been taking St. John's Wort - it's interesting to hear people say it works as I was wondering if it did. I've not been taking it long and this will probably sound daft, but how do you know if it's working? After years of umming and ahhing I finally went and saw a counsellor about a month ago and she said that I seemed depressed which actually surprised me as I hadn't really seen myself like that. She suggested I go to the GP, which I must admit I haven't done, they're so offhand it seems pointless. So I got some St. John's Wort - I wondered if I'd recognise it if the SJW does work

Completely off topic but re the five minute thing - I think that was brought in by dog breeders wanting to pass responsibility for joint problems in dogs onto the owners - suggesting that the dog must have been over-exercised rather than poorly bred if its hips are falling apart by 6 months. I've heard of large breed dogs not getting any formal exercise until they're 6 months old which is barmy. Puppies are designed to move and left to their own devices they'd be active. So long as the exercise isn't hard like jogging or following a bike and the puppy can stop when it wants and and it doesn't end up exhausted, there's no reason why they can't amble around the local park for a good while. I've never done the five minute thing - would have driven me nuts to have a four month dog that could only go out for 20 minutes a day.

Outside of living forever and being able to talk to me, I guess I wish Koda could occasionally keep all four paws on the ground, especially when meeting new people, he's very friendly and not at all horrid, but it's a bit off putting having a rottie boinging up and down. I would prefer that he wasn't such a hunter either, it would make walks more relaxing, as would not pulling on the lead. Also Koda, if you're reading this, then if you have to pick my shoes up, for goodness sake at least bring them back in the house again. Oh yes and PLEASE learn to wee without getting all over your front feet - there is nothing worse than cuddling up with you and finding out the hard way you have wee-wee paws again! And stop trying to steal my crumpets - I can see you from my computer desk! I would have wished that Rudi didn't make a beeline for other dogs, even though he is sociable, but I've just realised that he doesn't do it anymore! I don't know what I'd wish for him to be honest, he's not really got any quirks I don't enjoy. He has pulled my trousers down in public - twice - I suppose I'd prefer that didn't happen again.

It's not odd sizing as such, they just don't call things single/double/king but give the dimensions instead. A UK double duvet is 200 x 200 and that's what an Ikea double duvet measures. I have Ikea bedding and it fits okay

Both those measurements round up to 4'6" and 6'6", I don't see why you'd need to change your mattress too

I don't believe people don't care, it's just that some newspapers would most definately allege that a member of the royal family had done something without proof and people are treating it with skepticism. It says more about how much we trust the media in the UK than it does about whether people care that a dog has been hit with a stick or not. I don't care who he is either and if he has acted in a cruel way, I hope he pays for it. But on the other hand he shouldn't pay for reacting to a dog fight the way most of us would just because he is royal either. I guess if the RSPCA investigate the truth might out.

I told the dog warden the full story. It's Blaby District so if the lady doesn't claim the dog she'll go to Leicester Animal Aid in Huncote, I don't believe they have a PTS policy. There isn't a pound as such in Leicester, it's either Huncote or the RSPCA depending on which side of the county/city line the dog is found. I did think about phoning the local rescues, there aren't many, and I can give the dog's name and description, but there's a chance the new owner might have changed the name so I'm not sure whether it's sensible.
