  1. Just phoned them now, apparently he has been collected. Good news.
  2. No I didn't get any pics. I will ring them again when I get chance to see if he's been collected. Unfortunately there was no where else for him to go, but it's only the owners who are to blame. I couldn't leave him on the streets to risk the traffic and the cold.
  3. He's on dog lost, national pet register, here and the refuge (and a cat forum!). Just phoned kennels, no chip. Grr to rubbish owners!
  4. Found approx 6pm Chain Lane area of St helens, young adult entire male, black, looks like cross, too small to be a giant schnauzer and too big to be a scottie! No collar. recently clipped (body only, hair on legs still left long). Nice lad. Taken to Leigh Cats and Dogs Home (sorry, no choice) Fingers crossed he's chipped and someone is out there looking for him
  5. So sorry to hear this sad news Cindy. Sending big hugs to you Steve and Ruby
  6. This lucky lad has found his new home! Mods pls can you close this thread now. thanks x
  7. Thanks everyone Fingers crossed someone perfect falls in love with him soon, he looks gorgeous and that's a really nice write up! x
  8. P.s Chip travels well and has very recently had a dental - he is more settled now!
  9. My friend's grandad has died recently, leaving Chip homeless. This is what my friend has to say about Chip:- Chip is a medium small size his shoulders come below my knee, he is a small lab but with something like stafford in him, mainly black, ten years old but full of energy very agile can climb a ladder lol.. very mixed up at the mo as he is going from pillar to post and is homeless, microchipped, vaccinated (although we still need to locate paperwork) not neutered very obedient will do exactly as u say, has been with other dogs and a cat, has been with children but i would say better for rehoming with older children ... never bitten else he would not be here now...... he is verbal at the mo and does so when he is unsettled, he was very verbal when my nan died and is doing a bit now as he uses a growl to talk which i know some people find unsettling not an issue to most i guess but am trying to be honest... he is really missing my grandad at the moment but is starting to settle a little. Chip is currently living with my friend's dad but this is less than ideal as his dad's dog doesn't like him so it is difficult for Chip, his dad lives in a boat so space is limited. My friend can't take him as his cat leaves home when there are dogs around. Chip is going to go on the waiting list for a rescue but we thought we'd do what we could in the meantime to find him somewhere. I can't put photos on here but if anyone is interested pm me and I can email them or put you in touch with Glyn. Chip is currently in the Staffordshire area but can travel for the right home
  10. That's so sad, poor Vidar. Hugs to you Sarah x

    Sad News

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.... Jazz my first Oldies foster was put to sleep last night. I have just had an email from her new mum. She started with discomfort in her chest a few days ago and despite vet visits had to go to emergency vet last night and decision was made that it was time. Sound like lungs collapsed or filled with fluid. I'm gutted, as are her new parents of course. It is just so sad that the new lease of life she's had since coming from her old home has only lasted such a short time. At least she has been loved and cared for properly for the last spell of her life and is no longer suffering. Not that that brings much comfort at the minute, especially not to her new family as they of course adored her and will miss her greatly. x
  12. Thanks folks - it's good to know people know how you feel - equally happy and sad too! It doesn't get easier but as long as you remember the reasons you do it you can keep going. Tara's new mum phoned tonight to say she's settled fine, had been on 3 walks today, met her mums dog and had a bath - busy day! They say it feels like she's been there forever and can't wait to take her on holiday in their caravan. Aw bless It is her 13th birthday tomorrow too, so I'm glad she's found a great forever home to see out her last years.
  13. Tara has gone off to her new home - lovely family. She liked them (well she was keen enough to lie on her back with her belly out for tickles and only moved from that position for a walk!). I think she will be spoiled rotten and will love her caravan holidays, and I'll be hoping for postcards! So the house (despite the permanent residents) feels like someone is missing again and I have to remember I only need to count to two dogs on walks instead of three......... we're having a short break but we'll be back for more soon enough! Thanks for all your good wishes xxx
  14. Gulp... Tara's (hopefully) new people have passed their home visit and are coming to see her on Thursday night. The lady sounds lovely. I think they're all going to get on very well and I may be waving her off..... Which is great news for her! But sad news for me. I thought I was ready for a rest but forgot it means saying goodbye!
  15. That's a shame, Tara is so close! But obviously too big. Maybe we should revert to the original 'cocker spaniel' size we were told?!
