  1. Mika is a stunning border collie stolen from her owners garden. Mika has been stolen, we need to do everything possible to ensure she gets home safely. She was taken from our back garden early yesterday morning, and we were subsequently burgled last night. It is for this reason that we believe Mika was taken to prevent her from barking and waking us during the break in. If this has happened, she has probably been dumped and has gone without food or shelter since 9.30am yesterday morning. Please tweet and retweet, share on your Facebook, email it as a circular-get this post out to everyone you know. My children have lost their dog, their Christmas presents, and the feeling of safety in their own home. Please help to restore some of their faith in humanity! As you can see, Mika is a tri-coloured Border Collie. She is almost 6 months old and is wearing a red collar. She was stolen from Wheatley, Doncaster on 28/12/2010 at approximately 9.30am This is the posting from their facebook page, can I ask your help to find Mika? Other information is that Mika has been offered for sale on a website, that advert has now been withdrawn. Any info from anyone please.
  2. How lovely, what a smashing christmas for your family. She's a pretty little girl and I hope she was spoilt rotten!
  3. Hope everyone has had a good Christmas....mine has been very quiet, apart from Nico's mugging, OH has had flu really badly since Christmas day, we have a big X on the door keeping everyone away. All communication with friends and family has been done by phone. I am knackered keep running up and down with paracetamol, hot lemon drinks, new boxes of tissues etc., oh and mopping the fevered brow. Just hope I get the same consideration if I get it.
  4. I don't believe it!!!!! Nico has been mugged for his coat! While out this morning he was out of sight for a couple of minutes, when he came back it was minus his coat. It was buckled very securely, no velcro so it needs unfastening for it to come off, he's so damn friendly he'll go to anyone for a fuss. So someone had to take it off! We looked all over the place for it, but its gone. I know it was only an old coat, very old in fact. But everyone of my dogs have worn it at some time or another so it holds many memories for me. I'm rather upset and bloody angry.
  5. I have seen the future and.......it's garlic sprouts!
  6. I'll share that one with you. I believe!!!
  7. Merry Christmas everyone, hope its happy and peaceful for you all. I do believe it's Nico's 2nd birthday today!
  8. Poor Rosie! Come on sweetheart, go inside so Mom can see how you are.
  9. Oh Marge! That's bought back a memory of OH when he forgotten he'd taken the car to work, came back on the bus after a 2-10pm shift and asked me where the car was!
  10. Signed and shared on FB. Looks like we are going back to the dark ages, where very few had all the priveleges of land rights and the serfs had nowt! I'm a serf.....
  11. I'm sorry to hear she's not well. Lots of get well thought being sent.
  12. Went shopping at Merry Hill Centre last night, some feckwit left a GSD tied up outside the centre! Several appeals for the owner came over the tannoy, the good folk in Two by two, the pet shop, took him inside. From what I have since found out the owners came forward, they left him for 3 hours!!!!! Said they had only been there for 20 minutes. Swine!
  13. Roger Mugford offered to work with this dog, as yet he has had no reply. Ebony also has the offer of a home, maybe more than one offer. I really do fear for this dogs safety. We all worry about the dogs in rescue and when they will get a home, it's been asked why not worry about the other dogs there? I think folk do, but if this happens to one it happens to hundreds if not thousands of others. Over 2,000 people are asking why hasn't she been re-homed, why can't anyone see her, why won't the RSPCA respond to the request for proof of her wellbeing? All very simple and straightforward questions which would take just a few minutes to answer. Ebony is the beginning, the one that will give other dogs in the same predicament a chance that people will ask questions on their behalf. Can you ask the questions that need answers?
  14. Right, I'm not normally an angry person or one who takes delight in ripping into people or things....just occasionally. But today I'm ready to explode! As many of us here care about the animals taken into rescue, we like to know the outcome and are over the moon when the right ending comes along. I am not into knocking any rescues here, only the biggest charity concerned with animal welfare, you got it in one the RSPCA. Not the branches, not the volunteers, but the big boys! If any of you have been following the fiasco concerning a little staffy girl called Ebony, you will know what I'm talking about. For others, she was rescued from the pound after her 7 days as she was at risk of PTS, a space was found for her at the beginning of November at Dannaher kennels in Essex (RSPCA). Ebony hated being there and was very stressed so started to chase her tail, quite normal for a very stressed dog. Except that she was deemed to have behavioural problems and again put on death row. The people who rescued her from the pound were horrified she was once again in this situation. Its a very long story, one that has been going on for almost 2 months now, all I ask is for you to look at the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Ebonys-Voice/166393973398193 If you can bear to go through all the sorry tale, it's very long, please tell me why I should'nt be angry with the RSPCA? I would welcome your opinions very much.
  15. Have you got a sled? Would be easier to drag a heavy load over snow rather than carry it.

    Snoggable

Awwwww. Couldn't you just kiss that schnozz!
  17. It sure is ! Doesn't he look wonderful, such a happy lad now.
  18. Plenty of the white stuff here, the roads are dreadful. A461 Main route has not been cleared or gritted since thursday night Gawd help commuters in the morning, its just ice!
  19. Evening Very cold and snowy here, can't get the car off the drive. Most of our neighbours have had to park at the bottom of the hill. Just been reading about Ebony on facebook.....
  20. Thank you to owl. Just needed to say that.
  21. Good luck HLGS, you deserve some. Pointers can be destructive, I know from experience Having lost beds, carpets, furniture, cameras, mobile phones etc, actually the list is endless. Over the years its cost us a damn fortune. They need company almost 24 hours a day until about 5 years old, then they start to grow up. It sounds like a boredom problem, no-one at home "I'm bored, lets have some fun". Kongs etc have never worked with any I've had, they just end up in little bits like anything else they can get their teeth into. Sorry I'm not helping, but tell your friend they are the most loving, loyal dogs you could wish for. Just for that I have forgiven my pointers past and present everything.

    Dog Wardens

Looked on the website, only the council number. There is an out of hours number, but it's only an answering service.

    Dog Wardens

How do you go about getting hold of a direct telephone number for a dog warden? I'm trying to speak to one, all I get from the council offices is "leave a message".
