  1. Tilly - do you want me to send you some k9knitters coats for the Meet and Greet stall, to help raise more funds? PM me your address if you do, and I'll pop some in the post to you. Cheers, Carrie www.k9knitters.co.uk www.oldpiggery.co.uk
  2. Well, Mr K9knitters did offer to be an auction lot - to do a personal hat-modelling session for the winning bidder. So there's January sorted! Cheers, Carrie
  3. 20 - 25 mins in the oven should do it. You can then chop it into small squares and pop them back in a very low oven for a further 20 mins or so to crisp them up to use as training treats. (they also leave less crumbs in your pocket when crisped!!) Cheers, Carrie
  4. Uh-oh. I'd better not tell him, or it will go to his head!! (and as the world now knows, that's big enough already ) Cheers, Carrie
  5. Okeydoke - PM me your email address and I'll send some through.... Cheers, Carrie
  6. We have some knitting patterns we can send you - the small button coat design (see here) would probably be best for a Chi. PM me your email address if you want them! Cheers, Carrie (from www.k9knitters.co.uk)
  7. Yerse, they are a bit popular! I noticed a news snippet on Dog People that there was a 'cancellation' opportunity for that week in May - suspect it won't be around for long Cheers, Carrie
  8. I can't believe that Greenbank hasn't been mentioned yet in this topic! They offer three holiday cottages - ranging from a small studio for two, up to a big cottage sleeping 6. Dogs are genuinely welcomed - the owners, John and Jackie have 5 of their own, including some troublesome rescue hounds. Doggie towels are provided, as are 'on holiday' dog tags. Each cottage has their own enclosed garden, and you have access to a woodland (again, fully fenced) to exercise dogs off lead. The cottage is located in between Bowness/Windermere and Kendal. A dog-friendly pub (which also serves food) is within walking distance. All in all, a fabulous spot! Cheers, Carrie
  9. K9knitters received an email about this event recently. Another potential show for The Oldies to attend? It sounded a bit 'commercial' for my liking - but that could be just me! Contact details: www.petshowsrus.co.uk [email protected] "Midlands Pets and People Weston Park 26th –28th May 2007 I was wondering if you might be interested in the above event. Now in its fourth year the event is a totally unique, specialist pet show. Attracting in the region of 8,000-10,000 visitors the show is for animal lovers and includes activities that will keep the whole family entertained. Weston Park acts as a fantastic backdrop for this event and helps create a relaxed, fun atmosphere for the public to shop and be entertained. We are looking for a number of additional trade stands that have an association with animals. We have space for a whole host of different exhibitors that range from pet charities to artists to insurance and animal jewellery so, if you have something that can add an unusual element to the show, I would be delighted to hear from you. Attractions include; Dog Agility Show, Companion Dog Show, Archery, Kids Quads, Fairground, Rats Show, Falconry, Goat Agility, Unusual Pets Corner, Donkeys, Ferrets, Dancing Stallions, Licensed Bar and up to 100 trade stands. In addition to this show we have a number of craft and food shows that are well established. All of our craft shows have a fantastic pedigree, many being established for more than two decades. The events take place in the grounds of some of the country’s finest Stately Homes. Our aim is to create a unique and exclusive shopping experience that simply cannot be rivalled in the high street. The shows attract many of the UK’s leading premier craft and food producers and we are always keen to add to the exhibitor portfolio. If you have anything unusual that will help develop the events then please contact us. If you require any information regarding the Pets and People Show or the Craft and Food Shows I would be delighted to hear from you. If you do not wish to receive any further information please reply to this email and I will remove you from our mailing list. Many thanks"

  11. Yay!! Well done! You can now make the most of Gift Aid for your donations now! Will you make a gift aid form available from your web site?? Cheers, Carrie
  12. I'm Carrie. Currently living in Sheffield.....but in the process of moving out to Tideswell in Derbyshire. Share my mad world with OH and Jazz and Holly both around 3yo so don't classify as Oldies yet. We rehomed Jazz from Sheffield Dog Rescue when she was a pup....and Holly from WAW when she was about 9 months. I help fundraise for The Oldies Club through www.k9knitters.co.uk. Our growing band of kntters make knitted dog coats which we then sell and 100% of proceeds go to either OC or Dogs Trust. Here are some gratuitous pics of my two! (Jazz is the brindle staffy-x; Holly is the black one - heritage unknown!) Cheers, Carrie
  13. Sheffield City Council run some events which may be of interest. I'd be happy to help man a stall for part of the day if required. See http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/out--about/par...-outdoor-events In particular, the Highland Fling has quite an animal theme - last year there was a Dog Tricks demonstration (run by a local couple who are very rescue oriented), the RSPCA and (I think) a greyhound rescue of some description. Sheffield Dog Rescue also run a small but well supported Annual show where they welcome other rescues. No date announced as yet, but I'll keep my eyes out for an announcement. Cheers, Carrie
  14. Well, it's not half as good as a nice cosy foster sofa to curl up on.....but it may help a teeny bit until said sofa becomes available! Cheers, Carrie
  15. Hi Annie - yes, the Dennis the Menace coat. It should be on it's way to you this week! Thanks for your support! Cheers, Carrie
  16. As soon as I get an address to send it to, this coat will be winging it's way to Molly to help keep her warm....... Cheers, Carrie www.k9knitters.co.uk
  17. Consider yourself pestered!!! What sizes are Cooper and Cromwell? Cheers, Carrie
  18. Thanks, everyone, for their warm welcomes!! Cheers, Carrie
  19. Have been lurking for a while, so it's about time to say Hello to everyone at The Refuge. Apart from spending my time doting on my two rescue hounds Jazz and Holly, I do what I can to fund raise for rescues. This is mostly via www.k9knitters.co.uk - which some of you may already have come across. We sell unique hand knitted dog coats and 100% of proceeds go to either Oldies Club or Dogs Trust. OK, plug over! Look forward to exploring more of The Refuge..... Cheers, Carrie
