  1. Karen, I just thought of this....when Lupin was recovering from her bouts of pancreatitis we encouraged her to drink with a drop or two of skimmed milk in the water and it really seemed to help her. I love that little Bird as much as my own and I can't wait to hear that she is better
  2. Watch it, his head'll swell  Aw Karen, it was such a lovely day. Definitely the best wedding I've been too. So much more fun I must tell you all how lovely our PAWS group is....feel so happy to have made such great friends through the dogs Thank you to you and Gilbert for sharing your special day with us
  3. It was such a lovely day. Karen looked absolutely gorgeous and it was just good fun and a celebration of two of the loveliest people I know being together for so long I wish my lovely friends many more years of happy times together
  4. Michelle, sorry to hear that you've been so poorly but very pleased that you're on the mend now
  5. Hi everyone, feeling much more of this world again! Was very sick and groggy yesterday but much better today. Millie, my poodle, has decided that she is actually a dressing and has stuck to my side ever since I got back on Tuesday night They definitely know when something is wrong don't they. So now, just got to get through to next Tuesday for the results. Thank you all so much for the many positive thoughts you sent me - it is all very much appreciated
  6. Just a little update - Florrie (touchwood) is doing really well. She still has a head tilt and is a little wobbly but is getting around so much better. In fact to my horror, she just leapt onto the settee which is her favourite place. And like any good retriever....she never lost her appetite and is devouring anything put in front of her . Friday morning was an utter nightmare....we thought we were losing her....I can hardly believe she has done so well. Buddyboy, should I ask my vet about Vivitonin?....not heard of it I don't think. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Love from Maggie and Florrie
  7. Thank you so much for your positive thoughts and vibes, and ReikiAnge, any Reiki is hugely appreciated Bonniebird, Boosboss and all the other lovely dog walkers round me have been so great.... Especially with Florrie dog having been so poorly....but who is now rallying so well I'm an awful wuss but just going to grit my teeth and go for it tomorrow. All your thoughts are so much appreciated xxxx.
  8. I hope you don't mind me butting in but I was just wondering whether it might be worth getting a second opinion. I'm spending a lot of time on the breast cancer care forum at the moment (just been diagnosed so am hyper-vigilant about symptoms atm ) and the number of GPs who just haven't taken symptoms seriously or have misdiagnosed is mind boggling . I'm sure it's ok but they always say that a bleeding mole should be thorougly checked and freezing it off would not solve it if it were a more serious problem. Hope it all goes well for you.
  9. I still miss my Lupin, a cocker, so very much. We lost her 4 years ago this month and the house still doesn't feel the same as she ruled it like a dictator But it does get much less acute. for you.
  10. Thanks everyone for all your kind thoughts for my lovely girl. She was poorly in the night again - very similar - shaking and very immobile . However, she has rallied again and is almost mobile on her own with a little bit of support. Her eyes aren't flickering so much. I've spent the afternoon in the dog bed with her I spoke to the vet earlier and she is now pretty convinced that it is geriatric vestibular disease which as I understand it, has a pretty good prognosis. Jacobean, if you know anything about this or have any advice would be very grateful as I haven't heard of it before. She's resting on her bed all the time but late this pm got up when someone came to the front door. We've got the fan on her and trying to keep everything quiet. She's such a loving girl and had a terrible start in life, survived bloat twice, had both crutiates done . I can't bear the thought of her being poorly. I just want to put her lead on and go to the park and for things to be normal again Thank you all so much for your kindness - you all know what it's like when they're ill. Love, Maggie.
  11. I had 3 - Millie, Florie and Lupin who was blind. Since I lost Lupin I 2.5 years ago I have felt wrong and have tried - and so far failed - to make a convincing arguement that I 'need' another one!!
  12. Dear Mr. Finners - we all prayed and willed so hard but it was just your time. Our little gang will be so much the less without you. I have had such a strong image of Lupin sitting by a stream on a lovely day lapping up the sunshine as she used to - and Bonnie lying in the stream next to her. Now Mr. Finners is there too - happy together. Lots of love to Tessa - he's peaceful now.

It's so true. I don't think Mr. Finners has left my thoughts for one second today or you Tessa - we will all continue praying for his recovery and sending positive thoughts to the little man.
  14. Fin's being thought of tonight in my friend's healing circle. Am willing and praying so hard he'll get better.
