  1. Oscar is back looking for a home! Name: Oscar Fostered on behalf of: Animal in Need Northampton Sex: Male D.O.B: 3/5/09 Breed: Collie/WSD Colour: Tri Vaccinated: Yes Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Donation fee: £120 House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Good traveller: Yes Can be rehomed with... Kids over 5yrs: Yes Dogs: Yes, if compatible Cats/small furries: No We've been fostering Mr Ozzie Wozzie Blue Eyes for about 6 months, and he is the only foster that's been so close to staying! For a young collie, he is an immensely loving, cuddly boy- but yet very switched on. (Definitely the best of both worlds!) After a lot of interest, at the start of August a family fell in love with Oscar. They were home checked and planned to bring him into their family once they returned from holiday in September. So we held onto him for them. Today Oscar went out to his new family, only to be returned after spending less than 5hrs in their home. Due to NO fault of his own, (they said he was perfect), they oddly decided that now was the wrong time to be getting a dog. So... Here he is Any questions, please shout, PLEASEEEE crosspost, and we'll have new photos up tomorrow Poor Oscar doesn't deserve this, he's been in rescue far too long Please help the gorgeous Oscar find his forever family.
  2. Is anyone going to Daventry at the weekend??? If so what team are you with? and what day?? Laura Daventry Flyball teams
  3. Ok, firstly for anyone to help her properly they will need to see your friend and her dog together. I would advice her to visit her vet first for a full health check. Ask for advice as they will often have a practice trainer/behaviourist. Also have a look on the APDT website, tell her to call various trainers in her area and find one that has collie/biting dog experience. If you want any other advice feel free to get in touch. Good luck Laura APDT 00808
  4. Barney has been signed over to Animals In Need Northampton, but is with me in foster. Barney is a very cute Jack Russel puppy born on 20th Jan '08. His family found him, 4 children, and 2 cats with kittens too much to cope with so took the decision to re-home him. Barney was being left for approx 6 hours a day, and when he did have company he would chase and nip and the children ( well, it was a bit like a squeaky toy!) dig the garden borders, chew the kitchen and wee when approached. Ok, so now to the Barney I have found him to be. He came in on Sunday night and he was a bit worried about all the big dogs, well there are 8 of them ;-) That lasted all of about half an hour.He has chosen his best play mate already, which is a 37kg gsd x, Barney likes bouncing all over him and grabbing his ears. He has learnt who he can and cannot play with. He wee'd when ever we went to him, that has already lessened dramatically. When we first let him into the lounge with us he was trying anything to get our attention, jumping all over us and the furniture, puppy niping at hands and ears. We ignored him, and so he gave up. He has calmed down so much in a couple of days, realising that attention is got by being quiet and gentle. He potters around with the other dogs, sunbathing in the garden. He has only had a couple of accidents, but is generally very clean. He is crate trained and will happily go for a rest in his bed, and has not made a single noise over night. Barney will sit and come when asked, but will benefit from further training including on the lead. It would be beneficial fro him to go to puppy classes, we took him on monday and he was a good boy. Barney is vaccinated and micorchipped but will obviously need neutering when he is old enough I will try and add pics of this very cute little man later ( when my daughter the computer expert is home) Enquiries for Barney need to come to me, not Animals In Need. Donation and home check will be needed before rehoming.
  5. Looks like a northern inuit to me.. have you tried their societies??
  6. I am going on Saturday, with daventry team. I have got a white fluffy collie called casper.
  7. I would also like to add here that I have known Hugh for a few years now, firstly through horses and now he has his own practice I have all my animals registered with him. Friends of mine have also changed from theirs vets to register with Hugh. Hugh offers a fantastic caring service. The staff he has taken on are all friendly and considerate. They have given one of my dogs alot of time after he has had bad experiences with2 previous vets. I trust hugh completely, and if he decides another vet is worthy of working in his practice then I will trust them aswel. I have never been into a surgery that has such a relaxed atmosphere.
  8. We are going to be at markfield aswel. Daventry wannna bees I will be with my daughter and her brindle mutt, they have only been to one show so fingers crossed.
