  1. Someone,s been to the house wearing a dark uniform I couldnt see a rspca van, but thats because its kicking out time at the schools here and nowhere free to park, so it couldve parked right down the road, assuming it was the rspca. Couldve been a leccy-man, or the law even, but Im hopefull it was the rspca. It may even have just been someone in overalls, but it did look like a uniform of some sort. I quickly darted across the road to Mums when I saw him from my window, in the hope of hearing what was being said, but the traffic is too noisy at this time of day so I couldnt hear them talking. oohooh, and now the blokey that lives there is in the garden and doing something to the broken down side of the fencing...

  3. OMG look at this one from that site... Robert Palmer.. Gonna have to face it your addicted to love. Gonna have to face it, your a dick with a glove It wont let me open it Di I,ll download stuff so I can hear it
  4. I always thought it was "whose ART is in heaven, Harold be thy name" Probably more accurate too
  5. Whhahhhaaa, what a brilliant site . That deserves a really long look . Thanks Snow.
  6. Sat here humming to myself while I put off doing any work I had a thought about songs that I dont know the proper words to, and all the years Ive probably mistook the words for something else. I always thought (when I was younger) that the words to one song went like this... "Come by yer, my Lord, come by yer" (sang in a welsh accent) . To the song, "Cumbyah my lord"... or is even that wrong?? and the chorus of I dont wanna dance, by Eddie Grant, was always "I dont wanna dance, dance with your baby Lamah" and golden brown, by the stranglers, went..."Golden brown, textued like sun, lays me down, with my Mam, Sharon" Anyone else this dim???
  7. Your right. I did think that too., although its worrying for me to see him like that I realise there are other terrible cases that are more urgent. I just feel sorry for him, thats all No I havnt, will they help do you think?? Its not about the barking so should the environmental health be involved ? Maybe I,ll phone the dog warden as well then.
  8. The dogs already been out there for an hour this morning, barking the whole time. I,ll call the rspca again today. Ive got to walk around there in a minute to get my car (taking it into the garage to have the work done on the damage caused by Mr Polish Builder ) so I,ll have a peep over the fence and make sure he,s not tangled his chain up again. (The dog, not the Polish builder, although maybe he should be in chains too ) Thanks for all the advice
  9. Oh ok. Were the photos too big Sam, or should I just not have posted them, if not, then sorry
  10. Thanks Snow, Im going to try that in a minute. Thats a yes to to everything except finding out whats wrong and stopping it . Norton tells me everything is working fine and theres no errors or viruses. I think he,s lying.
  11. Here they are, like I said though, theyre crap You can just about see the dog, and the second pic shows him barking his head off, poor thing. Tomorrow I,ll try to take a camera round there, its a bit difficult with blokey keeping a look-out though. Photos removed by me , HLGS
  12. Well they obviously havnt been yet, because the dog was out there again at 6pm. I snuck around the back and took a few photos with my mobile but they havnt come out very clear, they are crap actually , but Ive just sent them to my photobucket account, so I,ll post them as soon as they get there. I,ll just call them again tomorrow. My car is still round the back of the lane, so Im using that as an excuse and I keep going out to the car, but at night if I walk up the lane the security light in Mums garden comes on, and the bloke looks out each time, so he knows Im sneaking about a bit. The dog is in again now.
  13. Ahh, well done Jo,s boys
  14. Connie- " Uhhhhhhh yuck Mum! I thought you said Boxers drool from the mouth...."
  15. No . I did all the defrag stuff and everything, buts its still exactly the same. I have quite a lot of memory on there, so its not that its over-loaded or anything. I just cant work it out. Maybe it just gets over-heated? Just had a thought, wonder if its the fan at the back not working?
  16. When I could still "frequent" another board, there was a long thread about a lovely little white staffy called Ice, she was stolen. Does anyone know what happened to her, is she back home? I think of her often, she was so sweet
  17. I asked the person who answered the phone when they would be likely to go there, and she did say today, possibly this evening. Im sceptical though, I remember that man I followed home from the park that time with the dog whose leg looked broken, and the rspca didnt go there for over a week. I only found that out because I just kept on and on and on calling them
  18. Yep, sods law the dogs not outside now, but the blokey who lives in there was, he was in the middle of putting a note on my car about me parking there in the lane (its a shared lane between the 2 houses, long story but hassle for ages about it) We had a few words about that, then I said about the dog, and he told me to go forth and multiply. I said the same back to him and said every time I see the dog chained up like that, I,ll make a fuss, and that he doesnt scare me (the bloke, not the dog..he scares me a little ) and he said something about I should be (think he meant scared of him, but Im not sure, I didnt quite catch it) and that was that. Barsteward I,ll be watching now, and if the rspca dont come today, I,ll call them again tomorrow. Poor dog. edited to add, I,ll be armed with my camera from now on, just incase.
  19. Thanks everyone. Ive called them, so hopefully someone might come out soon. He,s stopped barking now, maybe theyve taken him in, Im going to go over and have a look
  20. Thats what I thought. I,ll go ring them now.
  21. I dont know what to do, but I dont want to just do nothing Next door to Mum they have a lovely looking Border Collie, he doesnt like people going past the fence though and throws himself at at, he,s always knocking the fence down or breaking through it, and barks constantly (he,s out in the garden for hours at a time, whatever the weather ) Just now I was in Mums and the dog was barking all the time I was there, around an hour, and when I went out to my car I noticed the fence was still down, its been like it for a while now, so I wondered how the dog was outside barking. I went around the back and peeped over the fence on Mums side, and the dog is on a chain in the garden. Theres no water, no shade and the chain is short, but made even shorter because its caught between the patio slabs on the step The poor dog only has about 2 foot of chain, so is only able to stay in the one place. I knocked on their door (someones in because the back door is wide open) but no-one answered, so I went back around the side and called out, but no-one came out. As soon as I spoke to the dog over the fence he went nuts, straining to try to get to me and barking/growling even more. I really really want to go in there and sort his chain out, but theres a very real risk he,ll bite me. I stood by the fence and called out to them that the dog is caught, and that they need to come and sort him out, but again no-one took any notice, then suddenly music gets put on in the house very loudly, Im assuming to either drown out the barking or drown out me calling them He,s still barking now as Im on here, I dont want to just leave him like that, its bad enough that he,s chained up in a yard as it is, especially a collie of all dogs, he must be out of his mind with boredom and stress, but I dont know what to do? Will the rspca do anything if I call them? I know its not hot so water may not be AS important, but all that barking must make the dog need a drink, and Im angry because the dog is even chained up in the first place! Am I over-reacting? What will happen if I go into the garden to see if I can get near the dog and he bites me, is that putting him at risk of being PTS?
  22. I missed this Is it being repeated?

    Good Golli

My cousin lived in Mombassa (sp?) for a few years while her Husband managed a hotel there. She had a black house-keeper and nanny, a black gardener, even a black driver, not to mention kitchen staff and pool-keeper, one of the young kitchen staff was only 13. Yet my cousin used to go on "food-runs" once a week, taking food to poorer villages, collecting necklaces and stuff the villagers had made and sending them over here for her sister to sell. She was always going on about how much she did for the poor, in every letter she wrote to her Family here she mentioned "those poor poor kids", it all seemed very hypocritical to me, and when I asked her if she didnt think she was one of the people exploiting these poor poor kids, she said No, because they are "greatfull for the work" and by her employing them, shes directly helping them to "feel good about themselves". Im sure a 13 year old girl feels good about being stuck in a kitchen all day and night, washing dishes and running around clearing up after a white person and seeing my cousins children, who are the same age, enjoying a life of luxury riding their ponies and having pool-parties with their equally snobby friends
