  1. This has been a bit complicated.............last week Wiggum was sick once and was very down so we rushed him to the vets where he immediately perked up and was fine. The vets wanted to keep him in to see if he showed any signs of illness and nothing, no sickness, no runs and he was running round like a loon. On Thursday evening I went to see him and I saw him produce a nice solid poo as evidence there was nothing wrong So after 2 days and not one sign of illness he went back to Aunty Ally and the very next day he was sick, had the runs and was rushed to the vet again where he was given the injection etc. He was fed on Chicken and Rice Sensitive (pouches) whilst he was in the vet by the way. It's all very strange
  2. In a week or so when Tess has recovered from her spay................off she will be going to her forever home
  3. The other stray kennels where Wispa ended up actually named her PHOEBE...............not spelt quite the same but still, she had Phebe's name on her, it was meant to be!!
  4. They didn't pay for the c section, the cheque bounced and they gave a false name and addresss
  5. Wiggum recovering in foster this bowl started off in the kitchen saying Hello to the neighbours
  6. Well, Wiggum's owners never turned up..........phew, and he is officially ours So, today he went to the vets for his eye op, neutering and skin biopsy's. He was as good as gold in the car and was very friendly with the people waiting in the vets and played a drum solo with his tail on the chair. When Sarah appeared he flung himself at her for hugs and kisses and Ian the vet got the same treatment............look He met a big beautiful German Shepherd: All his ops are now done and poor little Wiggum is fine but bleeding He has 3 wounds where skin biopsy's have been taken, his neutering wound and his eye wound and each one is bleeding quite a lot. Sarah said it's just because his skin is so inflamed, poor little man. They are not going to bring him round properly from the anaesthetic just yet, they are allowing him to sleep it off................bless him. Unfortunately he will have to wear a Buster Collar when he goes to Auntie Ally's and he can't have Malaseb baths because of his wounds so he will be going with Malaseb spray instead...........should be fun
  7. Thanks Ian, he doesn't appear to have any breaking sores. My vet is a skin specialist so hopefully we will get to the bottom of what is wrong, he did mention something which I have forgotten the name of but it was Ich something?? He has been given a steroid injection and also antibiotics so hopefully we will see some difference by next Wednesday
  8. Yes I think they will be looking to prosecute unless the owners can prove that he has been receiving treatment. When they turned up at the other local kennels looking for him they explained that he looked funny but said it was a birth defect He looks worse in the flesh that he does on his pictures. We weren't really touching him because we weren't sure exactly what he had, we were worried incase he had sarcoptic mange which can be passed on to humans, he looked so depressed with his little tail between his legs. As soon as the vet told us it wasn't sarcoptic we all gave him big cuddles and kisses and his little face lit up and his tail was wagging like mad What shocked me as well is the heat coming off his little body, if you hold your hand a couple of inches from his skin you can feel the heat
  9. It's just been confirmed with the vet that on Wednesday Wiggum will be neutered, have a skin biopsy taken and will also have his eye operated on. It's a lot for a poorly baby to go through in one day but onwards and upwards for him from then on. Lets just hope his owner doesn't turn up before Wednesday. Please keep your fingers crossed for him
  10. Taken off the RDR forum: Well, poor Wiggum went to the vets this morning, courtesy of Heather, Thank you Heather After an examination from Ian the vet he can confirm that it isnt Demodex so it isnt contagious, which is good news. He was given a steroid injection and some antibiotics to help with any discomfort and he will need to go back to the vets next week to have a skin biopsy taken to see if we can determine what is wrong with him. He also has Entropian (just one eyelid) and this will have to be operated on some time in the future. So we are hoping that he just has an allergic reaction to something and the steroids and antibiotics will help ease Wiggum. He is booked into the vets next week for neutering, first vacs and skin biopsy etc. doing whilst he's asleep.........I'm not sure if he will be having his eye done at the same time? And posted by Heva: Oh this boy is so so sweet......he melts your heart! It's so horrid to see such a young baby in so much pain. He didnt make a peep in the car all the way to vets......he made a little noise at the vets but just craved every bit of attention (much to an attention seaking spikes dismay) .........You really pity what this guy must be feeling.......he is bright red in some places! There must be someone who can give him the TLC that he needs.... Here are a few pics from today! The best news is that after his ops. he has a foster home to go to with our very own Auntie Ally
  11. I have some wonderful news................. WINNIE HAS FOUND A HOME and can finally come off the list

    Heeelp!

Thanks Jazzi, it's definately not him
  13. Well Wiggum didn't go to the vet today! His owner turned up at the other local stray kennels to claim him and was told he wasn't there. A few phone calls later and he was traced to our kennels. At 10.30am this morning we were told that said owner was on her way up to collect him so we cancelled the vet run..................and guess what?? NOBODY TURNED UP His appointment at the vet has been re-booked for Friday now............thanks Heva but you can imagine how annoyed I am

Thank you, none of the numbers for the owner of the missing dog are being answered BUT looking at the pictures I don't think it's him anyway. Will keep trying

Sorry this is a bit rushed but just on a quick break at work! There was a JRT missing from Rossendale on Doglost a week or so ago and we have had one in today from Rossendale that fits the description BUT when I went to check the sites gone Can anybody please help?? I can give somebody from Doglost the info. if they want to give me a ring on 07939 489363, got to go offline now and won't get back on until after 6pm
  17. I have no idea Jo...............sorry, maybe somebody else can help with that one I do know that Leicester Animal Aid take in strays
  18. The dogs that have "gone home" were lost and have been found, we do a lot of work trying to find the owners as well Out of the 4 councils who use this particular "pound" only one of them accept "sign overs" ie. handed in not strays and we have never had anybody changing their mind Yes sometimes there are issues of neglect but most are never taken any further! Most dogs that come in are not chipped but the ones that are I would say 80% of the time the details are wrong
  19. That's wonderful, I have a friend with a dwarf GSD called Reno, he will be 10 years old this year So, many happy years ahead for Precious hopefully
  20. No, we are taking him to our vet tomorrow, he has been given painkillers only by the councils vet.
  21. He really needs to go to a foster home as he is going to need baths etc. which they can't do in the kennels. We have been told he can go asap but we will take him to our vets tomorrow (if we can get transport) to see exactly what we are dealing with.............poor boy
  22. Look at the state of this poor boy who has just come in and he's only a baby
