  1. Well done you two. I very quickly weighed myself this morning and I think I've lost another pound also
  2. I remember that kiss like it was only yesterday Happy gotcha day pretty girl
  3. Congrats Alicia Feel better soon Marge My hubby is as generous as yours The last few weeks I've been flat out running around. So why do I tell people that I don't work. I'm exhausted In fact, I've just realised how busy I've been - I haven't been on Facebook all day
  4. Gorgeous gorgeous Daisy. I hope you're still keeping all your kisses for me Jazz you still haven't told us - is new dog a keeper or a foster? She's very cute

I have three dogs but there is a fence seperating the dogs and the chickens. There is no way I would trust the dogs. Bruno boxer looks at them now and again with a typical boxer frown. Misty westie tries to chew her way through the wire so watching that closely and Bob terrier thinks they're better than television and hasn't taken his eyes off them.

No names Cheryl as I don't think I'd remember who's who We got our first egg on Wednesday and our second one today. They're fine eggs I tooks pics of Egg No. 1 which I will post at some stage.
  7. Up until yesterday morning, I'm not really sure when I last weighed myself - probably about two weeks. Anyway I seem to have lost about quarter of a stone and I have no idea how. I'm eating better, ie more regularly (I was a divil for not eating breakfast and then probably having too much for lunch. The last two weeks I've been quite busy too so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm a bit in shock lol

We got some ex battery hens on Sunday. They're in better condition than I thought they would be (they were in a rescue for about a week) and are settling in really well. They all went into their house themselves tonight It was raining today so they weren't that impressed, probably their first experience of rain. I was trying to get some pics but only two were out so this is the best I could get
  9. No way!!!! You'll all just have to wait
  10. I'm so sorry Alicia Sandra, if you're that near Tigger and Daisy it's well worth a visit. And meeting Mrs B is an added bonus I'm hoping to increase our female population x4 very soon
  11. Hi everyone We're getting some ex-battery hens soon. Hubby has run finished (just needs some finishing touches) and hen house is built apart from nest boxes. Now I haven't time to read back on 65 pages so just wondering if I can get some ideas on what to use for bedding, what to feed, what spray treatments (or preferably non-chemical treatments) eg flea, etc. I need. I've never had chickens before and I've been reading loads trying to educate myself. At present I don't have a lot of money to start on expensive feeds, etc, so I'd like to get ideas and I can be adding an item or two to my shopping list each week. So far the run and hen house have cost us nothing

    Is This Ibs?

I can't honestly say that I've cut out wheat completely but I'm not knowingly eating it, ie I'm not watching the ingredients in everything. I don't eat much bread but I'm going to get some gluten free flour for making my own bread. I use soya milk and soya spread. I'm not really a fan of cheese so don't miss that. I've cut out caffeine, except for the very rare one when in a friends house and I forgot to bring my own tea bag lol. I really don't want to be dependent on tablets. If I need a cure I'd rather go down the natural/herbal route. I had a chat with the woman in the health shop (who has a great reputation) but she advised me to finish out the tablets and then come back to her. I'll have a look at the elimination diets. Thanks for tips I'm supposed to stay away from tomatoes also which I will find hard when our own are growing in the greenhouse. I was amazed when I realised how much stuff contained tomatoes. I seem to be ok with pizza or a little bit of ketchup but not so good with say a pasta sauce, so quantity has a lot to do with it. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better Alicia
  13. Safe journey Sam and best of luck with the job.

    Is This Ibs?

I'd rather not stay on the tablets permanently. If I can learn more about it and what foods to eat/avoid I might be able to manage it. But Doc could tell me something different at appointment. The pill organiser would have to jump up and shove a tablet down my throat for that to work any better I have the tablets left where I can see them but I'm so used to seeing them there that I don't see them any more Do ya see what I mean

    Is This Ibs?

The tablets seem to have really helped and I have been virtually pain free most days I haven't finished them yet cos I forget to take them sometimes I rang the hospital yesterday to see about results of my CT scan to be told that I have an appointment on 28th March. I was thinking May was a long wait. Hopefully I can have a good chat with Doc and get some information (and understand it all)
  16. Sounds interesting Griff. Hope you're all positive now. It's far too cold to be opening windows and doors here today, oops that a bit negative Everything crossed for you Alex
  17. Tell me more please. Never heard of this before
  18. Best of luck Alex. My mind is elsewhere lately so as needed
  19. Gorgeous photos. Can't help but feel a bit sorry for Santa though
  20. Alicia Keep resting that poorly foot Mrs B Sam, your ball sounds like a wonderful night. Hope it's a huge success for you. Think I'm getting back to Irish time. Had a great time in New York but found it very expensive. Came home cream crackered cos of time difference, traveling through the night and not sleeping much over there. But the gorgeous sunshine is helping to put a smile on my face now that hols are over
  21. I'm so sorry Nigel. I really have no words. Take care of yourself Sleep tight Tessie
