  1. No passport when he visited us as far as I can remember
  2. Glad he has already got his trip to the European Flyball Championships booked it, I will get the vodka babies soaking early ready for his visit
  3. Thank you, I have had a lovely birthday (except for the bit in work!), a new italian restaurant has opened in our town so we have been to try it and they have lovely wine (the food wasn't bad either!)
  4. Unfortunately my gorgeous boy collapsed this evening and we have had to let him go
  5. Thanks again I am feeling happier today as we have seen the vet who operated on him and he thinks we could have up to six more months with him. He seemed genuinely surprised when I asked if he would still be around at Christmas. Of course there are no guarentees but any extra days are a bonus
  6. Thanks all, he is happy at the moment and that is all we can ask for, he is currently fast asleep on our bed and getting all the fuss that he deserves. Merledogs - sorry that you are having to go through the same thing
  7. My incredibly gorgeous, hansome and infamous (in the flyballing world) Bertie has got cancer and we will only have him with us for a couple more months He had a kidney removed on Friday which had a massive tumour on it, but the vet said there was already signs of spread. We had said to him if it looked too bad then let him die peacefully on the operating table but he said they were all still very small and thought he still had some quality life left. We were not even aware really that he was ill, just had a couple of days when he was off his food, but that was apparently when the tumour bled so he got aneamic, when the blood cells regerated he was fine again. So hopefully we will have some more time like that before we have to make the final decision. He is currently happily lying on the sofa, eating, drinking fine and enjoying lots of cuddles Piccie of my gorgeous boy when we were on holiday in Anglesey
  8. I love the walking in snow on Some from his recent visit
  9. Sirius came with us to the National Flyball Championships last weekend, to flyball, party and help us sell photographs - he was best at the partying Having a go at flyball He decided being the box loader was easier Ready for the Championships in his Alpha Dogz kit Though he was more interested in the Neon party in the evening With his new pals the Vodka Babies Helping with the guess the number of sweets in the jar competition for Dogstar, he managed to raise £116 And helping editing the picture of the championship winners the Basset Allsorts (think he was hoping it would involve more sweets He has just about recovered and waiting to go on his next adventure
  10. Sirius arrived in Derbyshire this morning and has already met the dogs . He is about to go and do some important audit work, driving around the Peak District (with the roof down) confirming certain buildings exist and stopping for some fish and chips. I am afraid the first half of the week will be a bit boring but then he is off to the National Flyball Championships, which will involve lots of dogs, quite a bit of photography, some drinking and very likely some vodka babies. - I think he might be in danger of getting a slight headache Meeting the mutties With Pumpkin Annie giving him a welcoming kiss - honest!
  11. According to this site they need to comply with the pet passport scheme to go to Poland My link. I know when we were over in Belgium for the European Flyball Championships all nationalities had pet passports, but it was only those of us from the UK that needed to go through the worm and tick treatment before coming back home
  12. I want to get a blue t-shirt for Sirius so I can put our team logo on it ready for when he comes with me to the National Flyball Championships, but I am having no luck . Can anyone help me, I need to have a smart team bear with me
  13. I have finally got around to paying for Sirius to visit me for the National Flyball Championships, can anyone help me find a blue t-shirt for him so I can get his flyball uniform sorted
  14. Sulking because I can't watch it tonight, OH is away and I promised to wait until he got home tomorrow
  15. I was trying to explain the circumstance and the set up at the police HQ, and the fact that I have never seen anything that would cause concern there (and I have been going there for the last five years in all weathers) as I thought others would be interested. Yes it did happen, but I was trying not to jump to conclusions of moronic officers before any investigation took place. If it was an officer error, then I would expect severe action against him.
  16. I regularly visit Notts Police HQ as part of my job, and the dog patrol police cars are parked in the staff carpark. Their dogs are often left in the cars with all doors open and in the shade, I have never seen anything there that would cause me concern for the dogs, I love walking past them all. My first reaction was that it might have been a malicious act with someone maybe closing the doors but it is in a secure carpark, I find it hard to believe that any of the police handlers would make such a mistake.
  17. Pumpkin, my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, and her pals Jack Russell, Ben and collies Ruby and Blu are making the journey over to Belgium next Wednesday to compete in the European Flyball Championships . We are not going to be a fast team so will be in the lower divisions but it should be brilliant fun. I think there are about 15 teams from England making the trip. Best of all Callum, my sisters border collie, lives in Belgium and competed in the Europeans in 2001 and will have the chance to race again with us. He is now 11 so will only do a couple of runs but it will be great to see him competing again Coming back might be interesting with all the teams coming back on Monday through the Tunnel, they pet passport people will have a bit of a shock Pumpkin in action Callum - competing in 2001 Please wish us lots of good luck
  18. I have an i-phone too and it is brilliant. When OH first got it for me I did wonder what I would use it for, but I use it all the time for emails, facebook etc. It is great this time of year as we are away every weekend at flyball tournaments and I can still surf (mainly to check if it is going to rain!!) We both have one and pay £70 a month tariff which includes more minutes, texts etc than we ever use and we downloaded 208,739kb between us last month for no additional cost.
  19. We will be going to the Champs on Thursday 13 August, photographing and racing Friday - Sunday, and returning home on Monday. So Sirius will be able to leave after that, unless he wants to come and help me do some auditing too No rush re t-shirt email, we have our first photography tournament weekend 8 May so it would be good to have something by then.
  20. Ohh poo I was supposed to arrange for Poosa to come to the European flyball champs with us but forgot about until last week when I emailed Ingi, but we are leaving in the early hours of Wednesday 27 May so don't think he will get to us in time. Maybe Poosa or Sirius can come to the National Flyball Champs instead on 13 August, but they will have to help me with the photography we are doing there, how are they with Photoshop?
  21. Ohh I never post on here, but as it is the first page I thought I would pop on and say hello If I need to post a RMF I only have two days at work until I go on holiday to my favourite place, our friends very dog friendly camp site in Anglesey, for a weeks holiday followed by a weekend of flyball
  22. Probably not much help as mine is the new style of C-RV but I got one last year as my company car and love it. There is loads of room in the boot for the dogs, I am doing 40 mpg and it is very comfortable.
  23. The competition is at the end of May in Belgium, I think there are about 15 teams for UK going so there should be really good fun. John, of course will have his camera with him . We are taking one dog each, so Pumpkin will be coming with us and the other three will be staying at kennels
  24. Booked our tickets for the Eurotunnel, it makes it all scarily real, we are going to the European Flyball Championships I am not sure how we will fit five people, four dogs, the flyball box and all our camping things into our pick up truck but sure we will manage it somehow Fortunately my sister lives in Brussels so we are hoping to beg, borrow or steal some of the things we need of her It also means her 11 year old collie can compete at the Europeans again, he raced with a Belgium team in 2001 Callum at Europeans 2001 Is anyone else going?
