Awwwwwwwwwww I'm so pleased for you and Toastie of course.
  3. No I wasn't doing any updates at the time. It just came up when my head was spinning and I thought it was my antivirus progam so clicked "Run". As soon as I'd done it I realised what a idiot I'd been, it puts a very realistic copy of windows security in your taskbar that says you have no virus protection, and keeps telling you you have virus's and to download their software. If you look in Control Panel/Security Centre the real one comes up that told me I did have antivirus on. Apparently a lot of people have gone ahead and bought this bogus program and can't get their money back. Thankfully I didn't go that far but it's been a pain in the backside. It does make you wary of downloading anything I must admit when they can clone things so easily and you think it's the real thing.

Sorry for not updating Michelle, been up to my eyes with this trojan virus thing. Well on Thur the 1st we went up the wood and she was running across the fields like a young lamb. Then on Friday we went to visit friends in Southport who we hadn't seen for a while. Afterwards we went to Ainsdale beach and had a good 21/2 hours there, they all really enjoyed themselves. We went straight to the vets for her check up from there, the vet said her mouth looked okay now it had been stitched (we've had no more bleeds). Her swelling is still bad and her eye, it gets crusty so I bathe it several times a day. She's eating well and hogging the couch even more The vet says the results should be in by Tuesday (not sure I want to hear them) so just waiting on that now. Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts PS: Took some pics of both days so will have to post some soon. Sham really enjoyed the beach she went mad running in and out the water.
  5. Fingers crossed I've got rid of it this past hour or so, it's drove me nuts. Thanks for the links, really useful, in the end I downloaded Malwarebytes in Safe Mode and did a quick scan. Found 5 infections, the 009 one was in my System Restore (no wonder that wouldn't work). It quarantined them, then I had to reboot to remove others, then I did a full scan in Normal Mode and it came up again and then removed it. Double checked and scanned again, nothing this time. Got this info from a cnet forum, some useful advice on there. When I thought I'd got rid of it before it would come back in a few minutes but I've been fine for a while now (hope I haven't spoken too soon) Hope it doesn't come back when I reboot tomorrow. I'm exhausted with what I've read and tried for the past week. Thank god for Safe Mode.
  6. With all the worry over Rosie I inadvertently got a virus called "Antivirus 2009", it looked very similar to my antivirus program and I clicked on it. It's a fake alert and has the logo's and security centre down to a tee. I've spent the last days trying to get rid of it and it's infected internet explorer and keeps giving me "the webpage thingy" I've done several scans and thought it was deleted only for it to come back. I've now come to the conclusion that I'll have to start with a clean install, I do have a Vista upgrade disc that I got as a Christmas pressie but am worried if I intall it from XP it might put the virus onto Vista to (I'm hopeless at these things). I so do not need this at the mo, I've only just got this new hard drive and loaded up with my XP disc (had trouble with that at first). Have these people nothing better to do with their lives, apparently a lot of people have bought the thing thinking it was real and have lost their money. I'm in murderous mode at the moment (computer wise) and feel like throwing the bloody lot out the window. So be careful, I might take in into the local computer shop and let them do it but it bugs me (excuse the pun) Moan over so I'm going to get off before it attacks me again.
  7. Sham enjoying her comforts And guarding the Christmas stockings, had to use a xmas hat for Lindy as never had chance to find her a nice one. Sham kept sticking her head inside it, naughty girl. The hat fell off on Christmas Day and my nephews two westies turned up, Sham flew to the hat picked it up and took it off to her bed to guard it. I'm so crap at quizzies that Sparky had to help me out....... After my pizza Hurry up with that answer Sparky And leave the savoury eggs and Bud alone

We picked Rosie up just after 6 pm, I swear you'd never know that girl had been under anaesthetic. She has had stitches in the back of her mouth, the biopsy, no xray and no surgery below the eye with not being able to get tube down. She has to go back for a check up on Friday while we await results, vet said she's not hopeful but OH says he's optimistic and we need to keep cheerful for Rosie. I'm a worrywart myself, can't help it. She bounced round the house then they all gobbled their warm turkey broth with brown rice, veg, stuffing etc. She then got on her furry fluffy blanket on the couch where she remains as I speak. I feel better now she's home but will just have to wait for results, I'm going to pray to everything and everyone. Thank you fugees, your thoughts and kind words meant so much. Thank you for the offer of help Michelle that was really kind of you.

Thank you They couldn't get the tube down her throat to take x-rays, they've taken a biopsy and have said it doesn't look good and they're pessimistic. They've sent it off as urgent and we have to pick her up at 6 pm then await results. I have a nice clean fluffy bed waiting in front of the fire, and Ruby has been restless all day (they've been together since 8 weeks old).
  10. Awwwwwww so pleased for Ernie, I had a soft spot for him.

Spare a thought for Rosie tomorrow, it's been a difficult year with her health (well several really). With her Masticatory Muscle Myositis and the problems it's caused. She had some back teeth removed a few weeks ago as with her mouth not opening properly the vet thought they'd decayed and caused a abscess, she had swelling on that side of her head. Anyway the swelling didn't go down and she kept getting bad bleeds, they put her on stronger antibiotics but she had another bad bleed last night. Took her the vets this morning and he thinks it could be a tumour, she's going back again tomorrow, she's had her blood done today and he's going to cut under her eye tomorrow and take xrays, biopsies etc and try and find out what exactly it is. It's not looking good for my little girl, she's my sweetest baby and I've spent the night by the fire with her on my lap. The good thing is she's still eating well and is quite bright in herself but don't know if I'm clutching at straws. Sorry to rant, just so upset as she's been through the mill the last few years. Didn't help that the cat and dog that went in before us were both PTS so that upset me.
  14. Merry Christmas Michelle and all the Oldies Club Team. Just taken vid and pics of Sham trying to mug her Christmas Stocking hung up with goodies. How kind you all were letting me love and cherish her and put up with all her antics. Fantastic achievement 60 dogs rehomed, you should all be very proud of yourselves.

  20. I took them all the wood for a good walk today. Good job as Ruby hasn't been out since, she came running of the Heath even while it was still light (she knew). Only Sham and Rosie had wee wee's last thing, Ruby has been terrified all night and Lindy and Sham have barked their heads off at the noise. My lovely neighbours set very loud fireworks off right outside on the heath so you can imagine the mayhem. I had the tv up to No: 60 volume and now even I've gone deaf. The whole world could shake but nothing would rouse Rosie, I've hoovered her head, tail etc up millons of times and she still doesn't move. I do feel sorry for all the doglets who hate them.
  21. Thanks everyone Well Bernie you can come round with those treats, Sham is eating again now but still isn't herself. She seems to be very hunched up round the back end and her back right leg is stiff. I managed to give her a little toot on the heath today while she did her ministrations but she just wanted to go back home afterwards. She's snuggled up in her big cuddly bed snoozing, I'll see how she goes and if no better will give my vet a ring on Monday morning re the leg problem. With her not moving as much she is wee'ing herself more too so it's constant washing of beds and bottoms, good job I have lots of spare beds. Bought some baby wipes so I can wipe her down between her bottom washes. It's like Animal Hospital here, what with all Rosie's problems too, and dashing back and too to the hospital at the moment as well. Thankfully Ruby and Lindy are fine, they just keep trying to pinch the snuggliest beds I make up for Sham. Thanks again for all your good thoughts, off to give her a cuddle now.
  22. Sham was a bit lethargic last night but had eaten her tea and gone for walkies etc. Just late on we noticed she didn't seem herself. She was the same this morning and wouldn't eat her breakfast. Now when Sham is off her food something Must be wrong, she loves it so much. She just seemed very lethargic and her back legs were a bit wobbly. I rang the vets straight away and had her there within an hour, we have a new lady vet who felt her tummy and said she thought she had a bad tummy. Her temperature was normal and her heart was okay so she gave her anti inflammatory and antibiotic injections. She said not to feed her today and if she doesn't improve to bring her straight back. That was 11. 30 ish this morning and except for having a wee when we got back has been sleeping on the couch (I lifted her on) and now she's in her bed and hasn't moved for some time. We'll see how she goes overnight I think and if no improvement take her back tomorrow morning. The only good thing was when I got back from Costco with a cooked chicken she got up to come and have a smell at that. So please send Sham some healing thoughts for a speedy recovery. PS: A saying that I hate which I got told a lot when I lost my mum at 84. "Well she was a good age" Now with Sham "She's a good age for a Irish Setter, she is old you know" Oh, that's okay then, it will be much easier now I know that. I know people mean well but I just hate it when they say that.
  23. 9 month old Rolo has been found at Leigh Dogs Home, he'd been there since Friday. They had called to ask but got told he wasn't there. On being advised to actually go and look there he was. Welcome home little pup xxx
  24. A neighbour has just called and given me a poster, his girlfriends parents dog has gone missing. Poster: ROLO My dog went missing on 3rd October 2008 He is Tan Brown with a White Blaze on his chest and white tipped paws. He also has a scar about 4 inches long on his stomach. He is a very friendly dog and answers to the name of ROLO Apparently he got our through the gate of the house which is in Garswood A-I-M, so could of gone either towards Ashton or Billinge. No scanner at minute so can't put poster up, have given them info re: Doglost, warden, vets etc etc.
  25. Little pic of her on her holiday in case you forgot what she looks like she said.
