  1. This is the second attack in as many weeks by the same breed in NI. Aktiats seem to be the "in" breed of the year in Ireland at present and a fair few have shown up in the pounds. Although all the ones I've seen are American Akitas.
  2. Yes, after she repeately said my number wasnt working :s I bit my tongue and called her. I shouldn't be doing all the chasing but in any case, she makes no sense in what she says. However, I have again offered to take him.
  3. And the Saga continues... I couldn't reach Roger so I have emailed Rosie just now in case they know something. I have also re-sent the fax to her solicitor again this morning and this time she acknowledged to Lilly via Bebo that the solicitor received it. However, she still has made no contact and claims she cannot reach me by phone. At this stage the whole thing is getting ridiculous. I have had EIGHT emails re Bruce when I logged on - NONE of which were from her. What else can I do apart from looking like a complete muppet? I have to drive 20 miles each time I want to send a fax and I feel a response if by now in order. I will do no more. Edited to say: I've also had loads of phone calls today, most of which related to Bruce, so I cannot for the life of me see how she can't get through. I've also texted her to the number Amanda gave me.
  4. No contact has been made. She says on her Bebo page that my website and my email are "fake" and that she never received the fax which I sent to her solicitor at her request. There isn't much more I can do..
  5. I don't know, I am not involved at that end as I have enough on my plate, I offered to take him if he can be brought legally into the ROI.
  6. As I was asked to do I faxed a letter with my consent and offer to take Bruce over a week ago to her solicitor, the fax number I got was 028/91818499. The fax went trhough ok. NO contact has been made by them whatsoever and frankly, I am getting a wee bit miffed now. BTW, the breed ban in Dublin is only for COUNCIL housing not for the city in general. My initial offer to take him stems from over TWO MONTHS.
  7. If a road sign tells you that you suffer from an infected bladder then you may be in Wales ;). http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/7702913.stm
  8. I was asked to fax a letter to her solicitor in which I agree to take in Bruce. I have done so today.
  9. I do not watch BGT but saw her audition and was gobsmacked. What did she do? I do not watch BGT but saw her audition and was gobsmacked. What did she do?
  10. Aww Billy.... I am so sorry, rest easy, Mal.
  11. The owner has since gotten a new dog and does not respond to offer of help. She asked for a place for Bruce in the Republic weeks ago and was offered a space for him but has not replied to emails Lily from DNBI sentetc.

  13. Aww, thank you so much for the pics. Anam is a special doglet, he has so much spirit to survive all this cruelty and still love all humans. I will not forget the call out I go that Sunday afternoon, ever. His poor little body...
  14. Lots of "Hurry up and get better, Mal" thoughts are winging their way across the Irish Sea!!
  15. Yes, they are quite rare but for me it wasn't the breed it was THE dog. I met Bordeaux a couple of months back and just loved his temperament and his goofiness. There was ALOT of thinking and discussion involved on my part as Bordeaux is not a rescue. However, Bordeaux is now here and I owe it to his breeder because I could have never afforded to buy him.
  16. Hehe, Ange, I said that to Bea as well, he looks like a long-eared shaggy haired rednose.
  17. He'll be two on the 12th of October of this year. He's a teenager really ;).
  18. Today (after ALOT of planning and to-in and fro-ing) a new pack member moved in. I am delighted and had trouble sleeping last night (yeah, I know it's quite pathetic, really).. Having lost 3 members of the "old" pack in 4 years due to old age my pack had shrunk down to 4 dogs and today Bordeaux moved in! It's amazing, it's like he has always lived here and the other accept him without a hitch, well, apart from old grumpy Toughy but he'll get there yet. Bordeaux is an Otterhound and he is the most amazing dog! I want to thank Bea for enabling me to live with this gorgeous dog from now on!
  19. Someone from Germany sent dogfood, treats and bedding from zooplus to me and I was gobsmacked when GLS actually found me, as I am in the middle of nowhere.
  20. Mister Boland and Mister Boland Junior are the biggest puppy millers this side of the water anyway. They do not work with rescue i.e. release "worn out" bitches, they kill them. So your chances of getting a rescue dog with Brucellosis is nil, however, Boland and Co ship to the UK and supply other puppy millers and pet shops. Not too long ago there was an article in the Daily Mail about Boland: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-...ic-cruelty.html However, I would take anything the DPSCA says with a grain of salt, their article also states that the USPCA participated in the visit to the puppy farm. The USPCA has no juristiction here.
  21. Oh really? His name is Otis.
