  1. This quote says it all....... Old dogs, like old shoes, are comfortable. They might be a bit out of shape and a little worn around the edges, but they fit well." - Bonnie Wilcox 'Old Dogs, Old Friends'

  5. Can you believe Perry has only been here for 4 years, its hard to believe he hasnt been here forever! Perry can in to rescue after spending 12 years in a crate in a shed and being used as a stud dog. He came in with such an infected mouth he had to undergo an op to remove all his teeth, he is also deaf. So he came in to my home as a foster. Didnt like cuddles, or fuss and couldnt understand anything of toys. He was advertised for rehoming on the internet, including the oldies club. Even though he was an oldie pugs dont often come up for rehoming so the calls started about him. Callers that had other dogs, he couldnt go there, he cant hear warning growls so would be at risk (4 other dogs live here) Callers that had cats, he only has his sight a cat could scratch him and he lose that (cats live here) Callers that had children, to touch him suddenly would make him jump and kids are more likely to do that (multiple kid house here) you seeing a theme here, there was every excuse used why he couldnt go to these homes, it was clear he wasnt going anywhere! My hubby of the big dog brigade agreed he could stay as we would probably get 6 months with him at his age.. wrong lol 4 years on and he is my super dog my smuggy dog my funny dog He has been a father figure to many fosters here and just been a dream... I love my funny little flatfaced friend
  6. isnt that how the couple up at Lancaster managed to amass more dogs, she was given a ban on keeping more animals but her husband wasnt so that allowed them to get more animals. For couples they should both recieve a ban not just the "owner"
  7. I dont like the man and hate the things that he stands for however I didnt like question time last night. I felt it was a programme where we saw public bullying. The guy never got a real chance to answer questions thrown at him. Things were thrown at him left right and centre and was cut down without the chance to speak properly so what was the point on having him on at all apart from giving question time great publicity!
  8. Gods own Highlander by E.V. Thompson, great read x

  11. Strange that yesterday and today the mail has been running his autobiography. He had a lot of fun in his life and always seemed to enjoy what he was doing. May his glass never run empty x
  12. A friend that has kennels has two to stay a few times a year, one is a delight and the other in my friends words wouldn't trust it as far as she could throw it and the staff are not allowed to walk it. So I suppose like most breeds some of them are wonderful some are not They can be very aloof, dont take to strangers easily, and are brilliant guards apperently

  18. This man is a terrorist, who took part in designing and helping organise a bomb that killed many people, he is still a danger as he has much knowledge he can pass on unlike Ronnie Biggs. He is likely to recieve better treatment on his return to Lybia that many of his homefolk receive. Why in cases like this is the general public never asked how they feel. There is in criminal cases always a jury made up of the public, who decide with the evdence given whether a man in guilty or not, we should have a similar thing for when parole of any type is being asked for. He should stay where he is, in prison till the ends of his days. The Brits slipped up really we should have let him be tried in one of the states in America where there is still the death penalty!
  19. So sorry Marge, its such a shock when they leave us like that , thinking of you all
