KateG@ESSW
Jess @ ESSW Age: 3 Sex: Female Location: Devon Can be re-homed with children: Teenagers and above Can be re-homed with cats: Yes, calm confident cats Can be re-homed with dogs: Yes, possibly Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: No Tail: Full Dock Jess is a gorgeous liver and white working type ESS, she has had two previous homes and has been in foster care for assessment due to her nipping a child in her last home. When Jess first arrived in foster care she became very frightened and withdrawn and wouldn’t interact with us, she needed time and space to trust us and know we weren't a threat to her, she had gone through a very traumatic time and didn't understand what was happening. It took her about 12 hours to settle down before she would let us approach her happily, we let her do everything in hr own time until she was ready to come to us, when she did she came over ever so slowly and crawled onto her foster carers lap for a bit of a snuggle. From that point on she was a different dog. She is in foster care with other dogs and two cats, she is very happy with the other dogs but does like to be a little bit protective of high value chewy treats and if re-homed with another dog then we would advise that they are fed separately initially until she was fully settled. We think she could also live happily with calm confident cats, she does like to watch the cats in foster care and has chased them once or twice but on all occasions can be recalled away from them with no concerns. She travels happily in a car crate and will jump in and out of the car, when tried in the footwell of a car she did get quite scared and anxious, we feel she would be be much happier when traveling in either a car crate or in a seat belt harness on the back seat. Jess needs an owner that can accommodate her being scared initially with a new change whilst she is settling in but who will accept that after a little time she will come out of this and once the trust is there is going to be a wonderful pet and companion.
