Meg was rescued by the RSPCA when she was just 3 and was adopted by her owner who thinks she may have been beaten. Unfortunately her owner has recently passed away and Meg now needs an experienced forever home who can give her the love and understanding she needs to help her through the upheaval she faces.

 

Meg is a bit of a flirt, she likes boys the best (dogs and humans!), although she gets on well with everyone and enjoys fussing. She can be easily spooked, possibly a throw back to her early life and therefore needs a safe place to retire to if she feels threatened, a covered crate would be ideal. She will react badly if anyone tries to grab her collar or drag her which is why we would prefer her to go to a home where any children are aged 12+ and sensible around dogs. She loves her chews and rolls onto her back to enjoy them just like a pup. Meg does suffers with a little separation anxiety, so would be best where her owner is home most of the day and where there is another dog to keep her company.

 

Even at her age, Meg loves to swim, so an experienced and understanding retirement home willing to take her on plenty of swimming trips would be just what she is looking for. She needs someone who can be patient enough to let her settle in at her own pace, after all, she's been through a lot.
