Tango is a very cute 11 year old medium-sized crossbreed lady who came into Oldies Club care because her owner was moving into accommodation where Tango sadly couldn't go along. Tango is in an Oldies Club foster home in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.

She is a super girl who quickly slotted into life at her foster home, in fact, by the first evening she had found the dog toy box and was bringing gifts! Tango is proving to be a gorgeous dog and her foster carers say she is a joy to have around. She was used to being left for long hours in her previous home and has been fine when her foster carers have left her for a short time with their own 3 dogs.

Good with dogs: Tango has previously lived with another dog and she is fine sharing her foster home with 3 dogs. When she meets other dogs she seems to greet them in the way that they greet her. If they are friendly with her she is friendly back, but if they aren't friendly she decides she won't be either. And if she meets an excited dog, she becomes excited too!

Possibly OK with cats: There are no cats in Tango's foster home but we were told by her previous owner that she is OK with cats.

Good with children: Tango has recently met two very active boys aged 6 and 8 and she greeted them well and kept taking them a ball to play with. She would obviously need her own space and quiet times but she should be fine to live with children.

Out and about: Tango's good on the lead and good off the lead too. She usually comes when called, unless she's very distracted. On the odd occasion that she pulls on the lead she can be quite strong. Tango's good in the car and likes to look out of the window.

Favourite pastimes: Tango loves a hide chew and also loves playing with toys, especially balls.

Tango's perfect home: Although Tango is fine to be left, she is a people dog and loves attention, so her perfect home would have someone around a reasonable amount of time. She enjoys walks and so would enjoy being a companion to a fairly active person.

Tango is neutered and will be vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated prior to going to a new home. At her vet-check, she was given a clean bill of health. Her eyes are slightly discoloured but only as is to be expected in an oldie. She started to limp a little after a particularly long walk, but one dose of metacam fixed that.

Tango's foster carer sums her up: If you were to list all the qualities you wanted in a dog then Tango would meet them all. She loves being around people and she is a pleasure to have around. Already she is wanting to know where we are every minute of the day, and gives you a lovely welcome, even if you have only been upstairs! She gives everyone she meets a lovely greeting and, if you're not quick, a kiss!

Doesn't Tango sound scrumptious!
