zico's mum
Poor wee Daisy has had 3 areas shaved for her various tests lately, her neck for bloods and a large area just behind both front legs for the monitors for her echocardiogram. She is scratching these 2 quite a bit and I think it's the new hair growing through irritating her.I'm putting aloe vera gel on but wonder if there's anything else I can use? owl
Dermacton cream is the stuff for this. It's soothing and moisturising and not very palatable to lick. It has helped Polly get most of her coat back after losing it to demodex mites. www.petnat.com
Barty's Mum
The other thing I absolutely swear by is Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) - buy a bottle online and dilute it down. Fantastic for this and loads of other things. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. Brilliant. I recommended it to Sarah when Flora was shaved for her hip op and she didn't get the normal problems she got with the shaving rash. Hope it helps Anne
