cheryl33
Hi, Does anyone on here do an OU course? or have you done one in the past? I'm thinking about doing one and just wondered how they work, eg funding/paying for it etc? fanx xx
murtle
Me me me - I did my Psychology degree through them and have just completed a photography course!!! You can pay in full or payment plans can be set up for you. What are you looking to do? Is it just the funding that you are interested in or anything else - I've studied through them for the last 5 years so shout if you want. I know there are others who have done similar! K9Fran
I did 2 courses in 1999 and 2000, but I paid for my own course. It's possible to get funding from your employers, or from a fund within the OU - they would be the best people to ask. It's well worth doing - do you have any particular course in mind? cycas
I've got a couple of friends who are OU tutors and from time to time I've considered doing one of their courses, but haven't quite got round to it yet. I think you want these bits: http://www.open.ac.uk/new/what-does-ou-cost.shtml http://www3.open.ac.uk/studyatou/apply/eng-and-ni.shtml As distance learning goes, my impression is that it's fairly cheap and good quality training, but everything depends on which course you are considering. cheryl33
I haven't looked properly to be honest, but it would be a history course (if they do them). If not some sort of Business management course - with German x
barb
I started a course many years ago but it did not take me were I wanted to go so I didn't complete it. I did enjoy what I was doing though and summer school was great. I met my OH while I was doing it as he was on the same course, he finished his and went on to do an honours degree. If I hadn't done my course I would never have met him, the OU has a lot to answer for Barbara
cheryl33
I think I will have to phone them for advice. It says you need points and credits etc! x
