Just catching up with threads and looked at the pictures first without reading the blurb... saw Tikka with the family and thought "great, they all look settled together, glad it went well", then read that was her foster family, then that they were actually failed fosterers..... well, the pics don't lie after all then!

hope Pippa's leg gets sorted soon.

their mum was an sbt who was seized and gave birth in kennels to six puppies two of whom later died, their dad was of pit bull type so the police were unable to release them because they as crosses could have been of type too. as the owner failed to stake a claim on the puppies they were about to be pts until dnb agreed to fund their kennelling until such time as they were old enough to be properly assessed and the fabulous fugees dug deep to make it possible. :flowers:

All four remaining puppies were found to not be of type and two were rehomed locally with the other two being kindly taken in by stevie

I've had a call from Stevie tonight. Pippa has luxating patella in both legs and needs an operation on one of them immediatly.

DNB will be contributing towards the cost [which will be approx £1000 for both legs]

I know that times are hard for everyone right now but if anyone can spare a few pennies towards this, I know Stevie and Pippa would be very grateful.

The paypal address is [email protected] please mark your donations "Pippas op" Stevie is currently trying to raise funds for operations on two other dogs so she really needs help with this one as well as those.

Thankyou very much

It was good to catch up the other night Melp am sorry it had to be such a needy phone call. Both dogs are absolute angels they have the most wonderful loving gentle personalities you could ask for. It is still sooooo sad and beyond me why there are so many other dogs out there with owners that never receive the love, help and care these 2 have they are such wonderful dogs and a credit to Helly.

Sadly for Pippa (Piper) with all the love and care she has received she has medical issues that know one could ahve known about and needs medical care asap especially for her left back leg.

I won't lie we are flat broke and struggling to find funds (like a lot of other rescues) and yes I am begging for help as we have 2 other dogs in our care that we are still trying to raise £5000 for their operations. KC our abused Lurcher had to have emergency surgery to save his leg even though we didn't have the funds for it and still has one more operation to go through with follow up Hydro Therapy. We have where possible paid a little off each week as he is not with our vets but under a specialist and we all know how good they are but want their money there and then.JJ our pup with one & a half ears and all of his problems still has to under go surgery at the RVC we managed to raise the funds to pay for his scan but are now struggling to find the £3000 it will cost for his op

Before Xmas we didhave tiems in local papers,tv and have an article in March Issue of Dogs Today ( all be it incorrect website address) We have off site events organised for both these dogs and now including Pippa in them but these take time to organise and with weather so bad we are limited to what we can do with out having to pay out hire fees for rooms and halls. We have been lucky that another forum has split their mini auction proceeds with us and another rescue and we have just heard last night that another forum is going to hold a mini auction to help us.

To top it all as some of you may be aware our own forum was hacked and is no more I am desperately trying to get a new one sorted (not easy being a dope with techie stuff loll) but with no site we cannot at present hold another auction ourselves.

Please please please if any one can spare a £2.00 it would soon mount up or any items for auctioning off on here or else where or could hold a coffee morning or bootsale to help towards Pippa's operation we would really appreciate it.

Thank you xxxxxx

  • 4 weeks later...

We had to go ahead with operation on left leg as it was so bad and knee joint was out of place making her have major problems walking as she can't take full weight on other leg. She went back to vets yesterday for check up and they are quietly confident all ok with op.Now just got to get funds sorted for rest of treatment which is going to be hard as have just had a call from RVC re JJ our other dog who needs an op urgently on his left ear and now have to find approx £1350 for him for 24th March.

Did put this post up but in wrong section lol

Big thanks to DNB for their support and kind donation we are still fundrasiing desperatly for her JJ & KC. We are still short of £625 to cover her operation already done and for her to have the other leg.Totall cost for Pippa £1,200 which includes a course of hydro for her as well.

She is a lot brighter today but deffinatly playing the I am so hard done by card and of course her foster parents are falling for her sad looks and spoiling her rotten. l
